A Conversation for The Official h2g2 Winter 2002 Party
Whatever the weather.

According to the weather report it's likely to be raining on Saturday.
That means the Photo Scavenger Hunt might have to be cancelled.
We've come up with some suggestions in the office in case of bad weather. Possibly bowling again, ice skating, visiting The Tate or another museum. But this is your day, and we'd really like to hear what you think.
We can split up into two (or more) groups if people want to do different things.
So tell us, what do you want to do?
Whatever the weather.
Pastey Posted Jan 24, 2002
No prizes eh?
Go ahead with the scavanger hunt. After all, if you're going around by tube, you're out of the rain.
Vote for continuing the Hunt!!!
Whatever the weather.
Ming Mang Posted Jan 24, 2002
Do the scavenger hunt and tell everyone to bring rainproof coats and umbrellas and such like. It's your own fault if you get wet...
Of course, it would be nice if everything we have to do is under cover... but you can't have everything!
¦M¦
Whatever the weather.
Munchkin Posted Jan 24, 2002
Ooo, the Tate! But then I'd probably not talk to anyone.
Unless it is well peeing down I vote for still doing the hunt, just maybe scaled back a bit.
Other thoughts;
Pub crawl from Westminster to the City
Round to Abi's for Tea and cakes
Invade the BBC and picket until they bring back Dr. Who
Swimming in the Serpentine
Steal back the Stone of Destiny
Remove the ravens from the Tower of London
Whatever the weather.
Ming Mang Posted Jan 24, 2002
"Invade the BBC and picket until they bring back Dr. Who" And repeat everything they have of Monty Python!!

Munchkin, does that mean we have to bring the stone down with us? The car should be big enough, but breaking into Edinburgh Castle and sneaking out with it could be a problem.
*Thinks: or we could just bring one of the fakes, of course. I'll just nip into the GUU with a hammer and chisel *
Whatever the weather.
Phil Posted Jan 24, 2002
I say continue the scavenger hunt!
So long as it's not totally tipping it down, but then again I seem to remember gettivery wet walking from Hyde Park to the pub a couple of summers back and no-one seemed to mind too much...
Whatever the weather.
Lifson Kofie Posted Jan 24, 2002
BRING BACK DR. WHO!!! BRING BACK DR. WHO!!! BRING BACK DR. WHO!!!
We could act out "The Siege Of H2G2 Towers",
Bowling is good - but a bit loud to meet people!
Tate Modern - quiet, but can they cope with us!?!
I'm still up for the photo scavenger hunt though - whatever the weather!!! ;-D (In Eastbourne we're used to it!!! )
Whatever the weather.
Zak T Duck Posted Jan 24, 2002
You can't cancel the photo scavenger hunt now, I'm looking forward to it too much.
How about borrowing some of those very nice BBC umbrellas if it is really bad?
Whatever the weather.
Fashion Cat Posted Jan 24, 2002
Dont see why a little bit of rain should cancel the photo hunt. Why dont you keep it on for those researchers who dont mind getting a bit wet, while the others can stay indoors and keep dry? That way those of us who were looking forward to running around london like loons still can!
Whatever the weather.
Pastey Posted Jan 24, 2002
Museums don't like you talking, even though they pretend to be enlightened these days. So that could be a bit dull, and we've already been BBCExperienced.
Bowling, been there, done that, got shouted by the bank manager. And wasn't it the last time we went bowling that I got rather tipsy?
Let's face it, it's England. We're used to it raining. Go ahead with the hunt.
Unless of course it really is absolutley piffing it down, in which case I don't think we'll be wanting to leave the pub at all
Whatever the weather.

I want to go and visit the Towers of Power.
Now that they let people like Mina in there on a permanent basis they should be able to endure a bunch of Researchers.
Visit the H2G2 Towers! I say.
Visit the H2G2 Towers!
Visit the H2G2 Towers!
