Indeed the donation i gave while the negotiations with the beeb were going on came with the suggestion that it would supply one person with a good curry and a couple of beers smiley - biggrin

All this talk of curries is making me hungry. At the moment, I'm baking a loaf of marmalade cake. I can smell the aroma as I sit here writing.

Curries are always a good choice. I make them regularly. I also make couscous and tagines.

Bah couscous, whats a tagine?

I occasionaly make my own curries, but have relatives who are better, or i go for a km walk to my local curry

Having looked up what a tagine is, i would say that as a way of cooking meat, it looks really good, but the suggested vegtables and other ingrediants (excluding rice and other basics) sound complicated, if i could cut down many of the items given, it might be really good, in my POV

When couscous is made right, it is delectable. I still remember the first time I ever tasted it, at an Israeli restaurant in Brookline, Massachusetts. Nowadays, when I make couscous, I cook the topping with rice. Tagine can be used as a topping for couscous, or it can be served on its own.It takes it name from the cast-iron skillet it is cooked in. Moroccan food is heavenly. I hear that the people are extremely friendly. They certainly eat tasty food! smiley - ok

surely couscous with rice is defeating the point, (I will admit to start with i've not tried it), but i would think one rather than the other, though I freely admit this is per meal, rather than an overall view like marmite

There's no point to defeat. I'm looking for delicious food. If it tastes good, then it's not wrong. If I were a Moroccan housewife, and I was out of couscous, but there was some rice handy, I'm sure my family would understand.

Most bugs can be cleared with a swill of good ale. smiley - ok

By that logic, ALL bugs can be dealt with a good tankard of ale...logic which i happen to agree with
