Yes, I do believe you were at that meet also!
Just remember, though, us rock-and-roll-ers don't ever die... we just get another round in at the bar
cor... been ages since I was last at a meet that wasn't in London... oo... anyone up there in Manchester still in touch with Threesecondmemory? Not heard from him in ... oo years...

"running about on London bridge, with VP and deackie, and pouncing on random passers-by, and pretending we were interviewing them about nighthoover!... strangely we didn't find anyonw who knew who nighthoover was on London bridge" [2Legs]
I read somewhere that London Bridge is in the middle of the desert in Arizona. You must have been hallucinating, 2Legs, as there would be no reason for tourists to be there.
I can't wait for nighthoover to write his memoirs and reveal what strange people we all are!

The first meet was the 19th July 1999 (I think)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A121104
that's almost 12 years ago now. Surely that date's wrong though?

That would be a good publicity stunt for Newhootoo. Get a bunch of Hootooers to act as fake interviewees in a busy touristy place and interview them loudly about Nighthoover and 'is it true that The h2g2 site leaving the BBC has resulted in the return of the great hoover?' etc

Anyone remember the Bonzo dog band, and their interviewing people 'about shirts'? I see it as being rahter like that
err... I dunno... London bridge... or some bridge in London... can't really remember which one We got some fabulus answers, particularly from forign tourists, who's err English language skills may have made their responses all the better... very pythonesk... we may* have been a little drunk whilst doing this
The first meet was the playing rounders I think, in hide park... or that may have been the second; there was also a ten pin meet at some point in 1999 from what I recall..

I'm defiantly packing my camcorder for the next meet. T'would make a great meet report if they could be video stylee. Would be fun too, let people not only see but hear what others look like . . .
Looking forward to a time when thigs like that will be posible.

I get a little nervous when I hear them called "meets." I swim in a local municipal pool, and often have to rearrange my schedule because of "swim meets." I would rather not swim through the streets of London, let alone throw the discus or pole vault.

NBB... I also experienced a disconnection and wasn't able to log back in. It had something to do with BBCid. Could have been a maintenance issue.

Perhaps a sign of Nighthoover's return?

If Nighthoover has the power to do that, maybe he has his own site? If we can find it, we should go there.

Well "lulz" says they are retiring - maybe they said so in order to attack us - though it took Sony two weeks to recover, we should be nice to the beeb if they can fix themselves in 3 hours

Lulz Sec is a small hacker group that, in the last two months, has attacked some rather high profile websites. They've just announced that they've decided to stop. Probably because they are worried that somebody in jackboots will come knocking.
