Can I also suggest we don't lay into Effers quite so much? I was badly guilty of that at the weekend but now I know that she does have genuine issues of a type that can be seriously exacerbated by seemingly trivial things. It is not my place to specify what those issues are so don't ask me to.

Yes, don't despair - join the h2g2 community consortium - or h2g2c2 as it seems to be called.. Join the plot to take over h2g2.

Yes - I do wish people wouldn't keep posting in this thread, thus elbowing it back up the list. It's like a slap in the face to read "h2g2 is alive and kicking" at the moment.

I'm trying to work out what I can do to revive it, and will be watching Dr Z's page with interest.

i went to the h2g2c2 page yesterday and, frankly, i didn't understand a word of it. is there a layman's page i could be directed to, for those of us who simply wish to write? i don't know any technical terms and i find the pages rather overwhelming and difficult to understand. i appreciate that it is technical people you need to start with, but surely those of us without such skills will still be needed, won't we?

Em6, we need everyone! We'll need people who want to write, we need people who are technical, everyone. We'll also need people to volunteer on the new site when it survives (which it will do!) as well as people to just keep writing as writers are the core of the site.
