I'm using a Samsung A300e phone - it works, but there's a mini-problem in that the reduced-size pages are still too big for the phone to handle. Result: pages cut down to even shorter lengths, and it sometimes means that you can wait ages for the next page to load, only to find a 'Continue' link. It also makes browsing the categorisation system rather difficult... but with a little patience, it *does* work smiley - biggrin

one thing is not very h2g2!

should "Surprise me!" that not be "Infinite Improbability Drive"?

We wanted to aim the service at a wider market and felt that 'Surprise me' was easier to grasp.

RFJS__ - trying to write an unreadable book, finding proofreading tricky

On the subject of confusion between regualar and mobile h2g2, is there a reason why 'Written and researched by' now means different things on different versions of the site? On the mobile version it encompasses 'Edited by'.

I should have mentioned in my earlier post: I'm using WAP to get to it. As I said, my phone has some issues with the site, but if you're lucky and/or patient you can get to a lot of the articles smiley - smiley

my motarola V300 works happily with it. A concern though is that for the film sizes entry, one page int he middle of the entry was just a couple of lines long, rtaher than the normal size which looked rather odd

Indeed. One of my entries that's in Peer Review shows up as 27 pages, at least one of which is only two lines long. smiley - erm

Given that I pay my wap bills per byte downloaded, having to dowload all the header and bumpth info for a few lines on 1 page rather stumps up my bills.
If I were payign by time, I'd have to pay for the time it takes to load up and process the page of 2 words.

Is there a reason for choosign though cut of points ??

It would have made sense if the cut offs were on the paragraph or every other paragraph rather than after a random number of words.

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011

The Pages seems to cut after a certain number of words and at headers. The reason that there was only two words on that page is because the previous page had run out of space and there was only two words until the next header.
