BBCi's Internet Services will be implementing some technical changes involving the database, which will happen at 9am tomorrow morning (Tuesday 13th January). It should only be for a few minutes, during which time DNA services will be unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience.

That would be the official downtime then as opposed to the unofficial downtime we've been experiencing for the past few days.

If it is only a few minutes I'd be supprized... Will this rectify the recent spate of error messages having occured since the servers gate crashed the London meet and got loaded on teikilla slammers?

...any inconvenience
besides the slowness and xml errors and other errors.
I get more errors than pages!
I will or I fight for better working DNA websites, because it is in state of disgrace!
the state DNA communities is Mr Adams would turn in his grave and if I was family of the late Mr Adams I would ask BBC to remove all revence to Mr Adams.

It probably costs too much to get a hamster trained on wheels, we might end up with a gerbil instead.
If all those error messages do go it will be a shame in the sense that I will only have a partial knowledge of every possible website error message

Oh come off it! If we're using to power this site, then no wonder it's all falling over.
Those dratted rodents are well known for being total lazy so-and-sos, and for chewing through cables at inopportune moments

As it will only take 'a few minutes', why not choose some minutes when there are less UK users. The BBC is supposed to be a UK public SERVICE, after all.
The advance notice gives only one days notice. This does not suggest anything planned well in advance. Is it a panic reaction to recent failures?

Perhaps because it will be UK technicians repairing or fiddling with the system? I for one wouldn't want my TV license paying for overtime for them
