What a mess!
Still Incognitas, Still Chairthingy, Still lurking, Still invisible, unnoticeable, missable, unseen, just haunting h2g2 Posted Oct 11, 2003
These days I always pick the rudest word I can think of for a password because I've found it's the only way I can actually remember the dratted things
My BBC one is quite mild really.

Incog., I can see a flaw in that plan... With the proliferation of corporate "profanity filters" in e-mail systems, if you ever forgot your password and had to request a copy be emailed to you, it would never get to you.
What a mess!
I'm not really here Posted Oct 12, 2003
I haven't seen any popups, so digibox users should be ok. The BBC seems committed to reach across all platforms.
I agree about the profanity thing. Sometimes when we deal with login details we at the rude things people chose.

It's not a problem for me Peet. When I'm working I'm too busy to get online plus the school haven't given me a username or password so it rather puts a downer on getting online.

Actually, it's going to happen any moment now - I'm waiting for the go-ahead before I pull the switch...

OK, it sounds like all the pieces are in place for the upgrade, so expect the site to vanish at about 1pm, as advertised.
It could take up to 4 hours but I hope it will be completed much faster than that.
What a mess!

Purrfect timing for me Jim
I guess this will also give the staff a needed break from our whining, eh? Unless we email them!
