The H2G2 Editors

Well, the thing is, it's *either* a timewarp, or an unexpected bug - of a type that's affected the site before, but which has been caused by a new feature in the upgrade. There's an explanation here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/F48000?thread=2270503 Still, according to my , it's 1966, so I'm going for the former...

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

How can the server be too busy when it doesn't look as if anyone has posted anything for at least an hour? smiley - headhurts

So it is going to take days to sort out? Think the backlog is going to be a killer when I finally find out what it is...

Bloody typical, this happens everytime the server gets repaired, "Unknown hiker", "the following error is an unknown error" and your favourite and mine "Server Too Busy" I've had them all today

Does anyone else get that you click on say, the My space link, and it doesn't always work? Or that it does, but not straight away and without giving any indication that it's loading? I'm on broadband, so it's weird.

Gnomon - time to move on

It's a bug. Jim Lynn has explained elsewhere that they made a change, introducing a slight delay between postings appearing and them showing up on the conversation lists. This speeds up all postings. Unfortunately, the "slight delay" turns out to be more than an hour, so it's not going to work. He's looking into it for possible solutions.

The queue appears to have speeded up dramatically. I'm now seeing things appear within three or four minutes.

I guess that's what we get when 606 closes for the day.

606 accounts for half the posts made across the whole of DNA. Remove that traffic and things like this queue work quite speedily, it would seem.

So what's going to happen to 606, are they going to get their own server to stop this happening
