Paully, you may have to wait a while for the Scottish researchers to contribute.

We have yet another h2g2 mini-meet coming up.

Tradition dictates that we enjoy ourselves so much that it takes at least a month to recover smiley - winkeye - by which time we are planning the next one smiley - biggrin

I hadn't seen that before! I wonder if you've just found the ideal 'index page' for this project?

Oh, should I have? I just clicked on 'Submit For Review', thinking that any changes would be minor enough to be handled by the sub- its pretty comprehensive - is that not right?

I thought about copying the text into a new entry that I could then edit, but thought it would be a bit rude rude of me to take credit for someone else's work...

Sub's do generally read the PR thread, but it's not up to them to make *all* the changes, otherwise they might as well have put it through PR themselves.

It's best to make a copy and credit the other author, so that any changes can be made. If there aren't many, you could ask for your name to be removed again later.

Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

Am I missing something? I thought that when something got picked out of PR and assigned to a sub, a copy gets made, the original stays as-is, and the copy's what's edited, so that the Entry has a different A-number than the entry.

But that only happens once the entry has been through PR. The problem with recommending someone else's entry to PR is that no changes can be made to it because it isn't a copy at that point. Only the original author can make changes. It's on the wishlist to remove the option for recommending other people's entries to review forums, which would then force you to make a copy.

If there are any substantial changes recommended, we might be persuaded to break with tradition and make them in house - as this would indeed be a nice companion piece to the main project (and could conceivably bring an Elvised Researcher back to the site...).

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

A Researcher who hasn't posted in more than two months... they're called Elvised because they have 'left the building'.
