Cowardly Youth

Lucinda,

Yup, sure would. I'm not fool enough to think that I as an individual, or the US as a nation, are invincible and bulletproof. You equip yourself as best you can, deal with each situation as best you can. And hope that you will be up to whatever challenge you face. The better trained and equipped you are, the more likely it is that you will succeed in any battles forced upon you.

I prefer the path of peace. I've seen first-hand what bullets do to human flesh, and I would prefer to never see it again. But if a situation calls for it, I am perfectly capable of violence in defense of myself or my nation.

And I'd d**m sure rather go out fighting, even if I lose, than go out bending over for a bully with delusions of grandeur!

Then you come into a situation of the strong do what they will, and the weak endure what they must.

Everyone always tries to take the moral high ground. You don't start the war by saying, we're going to gobble up the remians of the Spanish Empire and conquer Cuba and the Phillipenes. You shourt, "Remember the Maine," and sharge up San Juan Hill.
