starbirth Posted Aug 12, 2002
I pledge allegance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation, under God ,individual, with liberty and justice for all.

They do? That explains a lot! (Re the actions of the USA, and some individual Americans.)
It makes sense, actually - if the world 'hates' Americans, they can bond together against us!

"and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation, under God ,individual, with liberty and justice for all."
I thought it was "under God, indivisible....."

Bonding together is one reason.
The main reason is that Americans think they are hated because they are Americans. And not because of the things they do. Because no one will hate them for the things they do, right?

Slight non-sequitur: I have a sales rep who gives me proof corrections with the word 'yellow' consistently spelled 'yeller.' As in Old Yeller. I don't think he's doing it to be funny. I get a giggle out of it every time I see it - but there's no misunderstanding what he means.

For starbirths reference. that make a grand total of *one* thread about americans that I'm reading.

I understand apparition looking in the mirror is one of the hardest things a person must do. Even more when we do not like what is staring back.
