A Conversation for The Great Marmite Poll

Peta Posted Aug 30, 2001
Hi
Is this the place to vote? Here's my vote: I hate Marmite. I love Vegimite.
I thought I'd also run an office poll, so here are the results from everyone else who is in today (excluding Abi, but she's already voted).
Chris says: He loves it, but only thinly spread.
Sam says: He loves it with lots of butter on hot toast
Mark: Prefers Vegemite.
Spirit/Sri: Likes it sometimes; depending on what her stars are saying, thinly spread.
Dharmesh: He likes Marmite.
There you go.

Damn - we're falling behind again
I think I'm going to have to publicise this for haters inmy nickname!
A few waverers there though - do I put Mark and Sri down as haters or lovers?
Will update tomorrow.

Hey you!
Given that you champion the vileness of marmite to the palette, I think if it's a preference vote, even for vegimite, I think it needs to be included in the "for list" - unless of course you start another tally for the "not-sure's".
In expect that the poll will reveal either a small (read: negliable) poll in favour of marmite lovers or it will end up being a dead 50:50 split.
Clive

There can't be any "not sure" voters now can there? You either love it or you hate it.
Oh, yes. My vote. I love it!!!

I can't believe I didn't hear about this earlier.
MARMITE RULES! It is a wonderstuff, a marvel, and should be treated with the reverence and respect it deserves (not when spread thickly on damp bread by an imbecile, however).

GreyDesk stands up to be counted as one of the lovers of that salty ex-beer sludge that is marmite. (quite likes beer as well)

So ....
Peta and Mark prefer Vegemite. Explains a lot, that does.
Watch out for this - it could be an attempt at ballot rigging, or a bid to have the poll declared void if it finishes with the "wrong" result.
All you've got is one vote AGAINST - the rest is hearsay.
(Why did they have to choose that name for a naff pop group and ruin a perfectly good word?)
I hope that there will be no further attempts to subvert the democratic process. People are encouraged to exercise their right to express their own opinion after considering all the evidence:
e.g. on hot toast with butter, on wholemeal bread with mustard pickle and peanut butter, as a dip with dried frogs' legs and rabbit droppings. They should not be harassed into divulging their preferences to anyone. It is a secret shared only with the ballot box, provided they can spell "X".
(Impartial moderation by a "FOR" voter.)

I know they cancel each other out, but are proxy votes allowed?

Mistdancer,
*thinks about creating a few new accounts, just to come here and vote!*
Shame on you.
MiteyMar doesn't need the benefit of any subterfuge. It can stand up for itself. (Well it can in cold weather.)
Leave that sort of thing to the Vegemite brigade. How did that pale (figuratively and, I seem to recall, literally) impostor manage a mention?
Uggghhhh! Must go and wash out my keyboard.
