The Continuity SBVM.
Or SBVM: The Next Generation.
There was a thread a while back which said "What makes you feel old?"
This does.

I guess it is always nice to be a role model... And yes - this does make me feel old.
It did occur to me recently that there was one badge we never created; the badge for those who had their names taken away. The smiley should probably have been < ufo > - unidentifiable former objector...
I am therefore, wearily and warily going to sign myself by the name that was never allowed to be:
a girl called Ben - d*fy the moderators and g*ve money to Amnesty
PS - I have since seen the error of my ways and urge you not to do either of these things. Ever. In any circumstances.

D*fy amnesty; g*ve money to the moderators!
I'll add that to my list of bumper stickers that would confuse people right off the road.

Their U#'s start with a 2, and their entry's A# starts with an 8. That's like people born after 1980.
Guess I'm getting old, too.
(what, no smiley?)

Hang, on, I am only just getting over the apparent fact that some people I appear to know socially, or at any rate who claim to know me socially, were (I gather) born after 1970.

Too late Ben - I signed up to give them a fiver a month a few weeks back. (subtract the Debit Card fees, banking charges, administration, and wastage, and it probably comes to about my two cents...)
It just goes to show - some people have no originality...

Lucinda -
Do you mean you're donating a fiver a month to Amnesty? Or the moderators? Or, come to that, to the Real SBVM???

Good to know, Lucinda. It was the post-Rupert crap which changed me from thinking that Amnesty were just another charity, though worthier than most, to asking for and signing a direct debit form. There was a fairly significant timelag between Rupert and signing the form, but the cause and effect link was as short as it is possible to be.
There but for the grace of god go any of us.
The name that never was, never was shortly after Rupert. So I guess that makes it March or maybe Feb last year? I didn't fill the forms out till I was back in gainful employment which was much later on though.
.... Now if we all clubbed together and ponied up a fiver a month that may be worth offering the Mods?

"This is the place to go if you have an idea worth campaining about, a chip on your shoulder, or if you are sick of being in a minority of one."
Ts ts ts... what a decline of values

But what did the SBVM ever do for h2g2?
The transgressions procedure, of course. And the UnderGuide. Oh, and the definition of acceptable and unacceptable words. And then there was a new smiley, .
There must be more....
I am beginning to think we should have all received a volunteer badge, full-moon refulgent with lupus howlant, perhaps.
