I think the hardest thing not to laugh at was Elrond being Agent Smith from the Matrix. I half expected him to start explaining why humans were like a virus (and it wouldn't have been totally out of character).

I didn't see Elrond as being so angry in the books, but they did back it up (being present when Isildur refused to destroy the ring, etc) so that's okay.
