h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*HDS props himself up, into a sitting position, his back against the wall and fires an inferno bolt at Spectre*

*the bolt has barely penetrated Spectre's flesh(or whatever he's got) when he becomes incorporeal, brely wounding him. underground, he crawls back twenty feet, comes back up weekly, and spits 6 fireseedsfrom the blowpipe in HDS's direction*

*the first fire seed falls short and ignites brightly on the ground, HDS rolls through it as the others explode against the wall he was just resting against. HDS gets clumsily to his feet and notices his arm is on fire, he drops his mace and starts wildly flailing around smacking his arm trying to put the painful fire out*

*notices that the dead trees, however, burn brightly*
*takes out his last fireseed and shoots it randomly into the air, just to show off and to see where it lands*

*the seed hits a tree and sets it on fire*



*Grabs for his mace in the vision obscuring brightness of the burning trees*

*picks up an iron spike*

*sticks it through a flaming tree branch that fell*

*throws the branch (holding it with the spike) in HDS's general direction*

*the branch lands on HDS's back. HDS knocks it off and rolls on the ground trying to put the fire out*

*crouches behind a stone and sits there breathing heavily*

*noting that his back is no longer on fire, HDS drags himself to his feet and pats about the ground looking for his mace*

I must remember to put some sort of enchantment on that thing to glow in the dark, what was I thinking making it out of evil black iron>

*throws a stone somewhere off in the distance so HDS'll think he's over there*

*proceeds slowly, carefully, lifting every frond, and examining every tree and bush to see if he can note the tell tale frost of the rescent presence of one in ghostly form*

*creeps silently along the back fence*

*hides behind a gargoyle*

*Mutters: "Bugger it all" then fires a fire arrow from his wrist crossbow into the dead foliage, lighting it on fire. In the flickering light he spots his mace and rushes over to pick it up, lying on a patch of burnt ground*

*looks inside a nearby crpyt where a warrior was buried with his weapons*
*dodges the skeleton of the warriors fist, grabs its bow, and runs out*
*gets on top of the building behind the gargoyle again*

*picks his mace up and smashes a skeleton warrior*

where did they come from?!

*Notches another bolt in his wrist crossbow, draws it back, and shoots it up in the air*

*decides to get fancy and shoots his own arrow in the air, splitting HDS's bolt when it lands right in two*

so much for my flare

*tracks around to where the arrow was fired from, searching for Spectre*

*aims a rock so that when he throws it it will hopefulyl hit and damage the wrist-crossbow but doesn't throw it yet*

*crouches in a bush silently*

*Swings the Mace at a nearby gargoyle out of the shear frustration of battling an enemy he can't see*

Show yourself Frenchman!

*throws the rock so that it clatters off the mace*
*draws his sword*

Okay okay I'm coming... *pops out of the trees*
