Well, I'm glad it's not the 5th anymore in any event...turns out my niece (whose birthday is on Saturday) is having her party on Sunday, because my brother has hijacked the Saturday night for his belated 21st party...so I am booked up all this weekend smiley - sadface

And I still don't think my parents like the idea very much...smiley - sadface

Do you know what it is that they are worried about smiley - erm?

"Stranger danger", probably. Especially me being without them and meeting a group of people I don't know...smiley - erm

I can understand where they're coming from...would they feel more comfortable if they organised picking you up and/or dropping you off?

Have you got a friend or relative that they would feel comfortable going with?

If they want to make sure you're safe, I can always give them my mobile number just for safe keeping or something smiley - erm?

I can certainly understand why you're parents would be concerned, about going out wiht people they don't know, and a lot of people you would barely know yourself. If there's anything we can do to allay their fears, we'd be more than happy to do it smiley - biggrin

If you can't make it, no sweat, but if you want to come, and there's anything we can do to ease the minds of your folks, just let us know smiley - ok!

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

*randomnly looks at calendar*

Ahhh... *points* 16th of December? That way when people start saying "NO! I'm SOO busy that day!" we can go "Earlier or later" and get somewhere.

(Or it could even be a total fluke and I'm an absolute genius smiley - evilgrin)

Coolies. That'll be a Thursday. smiley - biggrin I only know that because I saw an ad for movie coming out on that day earlier today and movies always come out on Thursdays. *spins around in circles for no real reason*

Hmm... how about the 17th, Friday afternoon/night, to cater for both under- and over- 18s?

Sure, why not? *doesn't really get why Friday is better than Thursday, but doesn't really care*

17th may be a bit of a runaround for me, but if everyone is happy with it, I will see what I can do smiley - ok

Well, a Friday night could go later than a Thursday night generally, as those who have to work don't have to get up early the next day smiley - smiley Unless, of course, they work on Saturday, or have something else to do on Saturday, which at this time of the year is fairly likely smiley - winkeye
