I mentioned it to my mum today, and she seems pleased about me engaging in a social activity instead of hiding out in this very room all alone all day, so yeah... I will probably go if Cat and Rob go.

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ? Posted Nov 27, 2004
Well, Rob and I are away on the 3rd-5th of Dec... I had no idea when else he's free, but I'm good from the 7th onwards, I think, except the 13th... Assuming parents don't freak...

I really hope you can come, Cat. This thing sounds like fun, but I'd be far too scared to go without you.

I promise we're not all big and scary (apart from ER that is, he's terrifying ) but I can totally understand not wanting to go without knowing someone else - maybe we can change the not-set-in-stone date to accomodate more people?

That would be good, also gives me more time to wear the parents down. And if Dani Rob and I went, the parents might be happy enough if one of us brought a parent / older brother etc rather than all of us. I shall have to find out if that person really is my cousin and if he wants to come...

You should drop him a line and check - the more the merrier! I think our previous 'meet record' is four. Four lonely people, and both times one of them was foreign, so they don't count
We can definately meet in a park/beach/public place to ease the minds of the parental-types, not a worry at all.

Perhaps if I got to know some of you on here first it'd be good so I won't be so shy in person and also you'll be prepared for the insanity.
And Cat, when you suggest that one of us bring a parent or older brother, whose parent or older brother are you suggesting...? I am going to rule out my mum because that'd be creepy and annoy the crap out of everyone. I would bring Blake (my 19 year old brother) but there's NO chance he'd be convinced into that seeing as he has a strong disliking for h2g2 and his friend Joseph seems to like calling it r2d2. And either of your parents going would also be creepy and I would feel awkward around them and be hiding under a table or something the whole time. Richard being there would be interesting, though I doubt he'd go, and you probably wouldn't be too keen on that idea. And I don't know anything about Rob's parents or older brother or even if he has an older brother... So yeah... whose parents or older brother were you suggesting?
I was planning to rant about something else too, but I have forgotten it. Oh well.

Rob doesn't have an older brother, he has a younger sister. Personally, I'd like his dad to go, his dad's cool... If it is my cousin, he's 21 and I'm relatively sure my parents would be cool for me to go if he was there (assuming they think he's responsible...), and if he was there then he might be able to convince my older brother to come (who is 18). My mum - no. My dad - maybe...

Yeah, definitely not your mum... that'd scare the bejeebers out of me... and you dad, while not being as bad, I would prefer not, but if that's what it takes to get you there, I will survive. *starts singing loudly in German*

Hmm... so based on all of that, are we starting to think of a weekday (afternoon/evening) rather than a weekend?

Hooray for holidays. It means I might be able to convince friends to come over and put up with me for a couple of hours.

Ah, persuasion, 'tis the spice of life. (I have been declaring many things to be the spice of life lately.)
Perhaps if I got to know you, I could persuade you... *ponders* I like to ponder.

Yes well, everyone at my school has already had the b*tch about it...
Oh, today when I was dropping major hints to my Dad that I want to go to the Boxing Day test (cause usually we're at the MRM but we won't be there this year and I've never gone to the cricket and I love it) he said he'd be busy painting, but I should try and get my Grandpa to take me, and then Mum said maybe I could convince my cousin and brother to take me and I was like "SCORE ON TWO COUNTS! Not only do they not mind me going with my brother and cousin, I'm allowed to go to the Boxing Day test!!! (although not on Boxing Day, we're busy, but day after here I come!)"

I've been to the cricket before, and I hate cricket.
