Melbourne Meet 2004
Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Posted Nov 25, 2004
I don't think I should come...
You guys go on and have a good time. Maybe some time when I'm older and allowed to go drink in pubs and stuff. Don't worry...

Other than that, I guess it's just ER...

That's a shame Midnight - besides making up greater numbers () it would have been good to have a greater range at the meet - I was hoping to convince a couple of other not-yet-drinking-age Melbournians to come along too, as well as some a bit older - diversity and understanding's a large part of what h2g2's about, yeah? Not to mention fun

Yeah, I'm sorry - but I think you can imagine what my parents would be like about it...
I do want to come, believe me.
(You mean to tell me I'm not the only Aussie my age on h2g2? I haven't met any other people my age from Australia here - not that I know of, anyway...)

Have you emailed Caf at all, Your Maj....... or does she find it difficult to collect her email whilst absailing down a 300 foot cliff? ..................... or canoeing down rapids ......................... or hiking through mountain range-type thingies?

I have indeed, but I don't hold out much hope of i) a reply, or ii) a positive answer... though surely she would have finished her Everest-scaling final exam by now... so there might be a chance, if only the sherpas can get to her in time!

I made it! The sherpas tracked me down mid-abseil (by throwing rocks, thanks guys ) and I got home tonight. You should see my bruises!
I'm glad to be able to prove you wrong, with i) this reply, and ii) this positive answer. I'll be in Melbourne from this weekend onwards, so let me know the time/place and I'll be there. Inner city would suit me better, but if it's me against you two suburbanites then I'll give in without a fight.

Hey... suburbs are cool too...

Cafram! Whod've thunk it! As for date, I haven't heard any rousing objections to the 5th, but I've not exactly heard much support either... bloody apathetic aussies And location... well, dunno! See who else (if anyone else) replies I guess...
And suburbs... can be okay, but... I don't know, they can rather drain the life a bit... but then, the city's too full of people, and the country... is great, but it's hard to get away from the small-town mentality... maybe I'll be a hermit...
