LeGray's anatomy. Everybody got bones, some are funny yeh. You need most of them, I think. Cos ya couldn't lean against a bar, unless ya got bones.
Bones are made of hard stuff called calcium, I didn't say I was a chemist, they are soft on the inside, got some soft stuff in them. So they are a bit like chocolates.
Don't taste as good though.

Dem bones, dem bones gonna rise again,
Gonna exercise a franchise again,
Gonna tax us up to our eyes again,
While sittin' 'round on their thighbones
Chorus:
The country's in the very best of hands,
The best of hands, the best of hands.....

Nope, it wasn't one of mine. It was from the musical "Lil Abner," as sung by Edie Adams, Stubby Kaye, et al.

In the comic strip I think the adjective 'lil' was a jest. That guy was one of the biggest characters in that funny paper.

He seemed to be as big as his parents put together, with big muscles and very agreeable features all around. But for all that, he was still in Dogpatch, Arkansas.

Somewhere in my closet I have an original cast recording of the "Lil Abner" musical. Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics for some very nice melodies.

i dunno i dunno.... but here is an interesting tidbit...
Andy Capp, the cartoonist for Li'l Abner, has a cameo appearance in John and Yoko Lennon''s Imagine (if thats the name of it) video where they have a Love In in their bed for peace... he comes in and gives them holy halibut and at one point insults Yoko as a woman... which definitely puts ME off of him for good... unless someone can prove to me he was just playing devil's advocate as per some prearranged thingie atwixt John Yoko and him...
He came off as oldschool very oldschool good old american boy ...most assuredly displaying the characteristics of what we were rebelling against in the 60's....

true, according to wikipedia, who also tells another anecdote (and a LOT of other stuff!): in a televised face-off, either Capp (on the Dick Cavett Show) or (more commonly) conservative talk show host Joe Pyne (on his own show) is supposed to have taunted iconoclastic musician Frank Zappa about his long hair, asking Zappa if he thought he was a girl. Zappa is said to have replied, "You have a wooden leg; does that make you a table?" (Both Capp and Pyne had wooden legs).
sounds like zappa to me!
