"Never heard of em" [PAL]

Have you heard of Ted Hughes, the late Poet Laureate of Great Britain? He was Sylvia Plath's husband, and a character in "Sylvia."

The Vatican is regarded as a sovereign country headed by a monarch. An elected monarch. Not many monarchs get elected.

"Not many monarchs get elected. "

Most monarchs claim they are god elect

In fact most monarchs are only elected until their nations decide they are not.

For example: When the Danish king Frederik IX "only" had daughters his brother was next in line. Everybody could see that this was not a good idea. So the order of succession was altered by a referendum. smiley - geek

Well, Pierce, most countries aren't as sensible as Denmark.

Tell me, is the Danish royal family descended from the daughter of Britain's Edward VII? I think she was Queen Maud.

I've also read that the Scandinavian royal families trace their descent back to the children of Josephine, who later married Napoleon. Is the Danish royal family involved in that lineage?

Just curious. I could always google it, but I was wondering if you happened to know off the top of your head....

Then there is the question- If William of England has a daughter will she be higher in succession than her younger brothers
