M'Lady D, surely you know better than to insinuate that the worship of my sister Goddess Mary Jane is bad for your health... you haven't been falling for all those new TV commercials again, have you???
I hope not... their facts are way off.
1984!!! 1984!!!
Well, I suppose that's a VERY demographic-limited joke...
Oh well, it

You don't seem convinced, dear...
No, seriously -- like that ad they've been running, lessee, something about "There is as much carcinogenic tar in one joint as there is in four cigarettes"... Now that's ing bull!!!
To begin with, tar isn't the major carcinogen in tobacco -- it's the carbon monoxide. Yeah, tar is carcinogenic, but it's not the big factor.
Second, anyone who's ever rolled their own cigarettes, like out of Drum or Bugler, or whatever, knows well that the tar coming out of that is three to four times more than you'll ever get out of a spliff. Now, you don't get that much tar from packaged cigarettes, because the tobacco has been dried and processed. Similarly, you'd get less tar from a joint if you dried and processed it first.
So, really, it's an extremely biased ad, that does technically tell the truth, I suppose, but conveniently leaves out a number of factors that render it fairly meaningless.
I've already written the ers, believe me, demanding that they take it off the air for false advertisement. We'll see, I guess...
And then, the line "Marijuana -- it's more harmful than we all thought..." Now, what the ing is that supposed to mean??? I mean, it's one of the least dangerous substances available for purchase in this country -- compare, if you will, tobacco, alcohol, and a majority of prescription drugs, and you'll find that Mary Jane has more POSITIVE effects on the psyche, fewer harmful or uncomfortable side effects, and FAR more beneficial health effects than ANY of them.
So there
I may be a stoner, but I'm a in well educated one.

So then, marijuana use didn't kill off my brother's braincells!??
If that's true, then I still can attest to the fact that drugs ruined him.

Hmmmm... well, granted I didn't know your brother... Honestly, though, dear, whatever did kill his braincells, marijuana would be one of the very last causes I'd look at with suspicion... first, I'd look at all the pollutants in our air, the chemicals in our food, the toxic goop in our water and, in your case, radioactive runoff from Rocky Mountain Flats.
Only after you effectively ruled out all of those considerations, which I don't think would be possible to do, could you reasonably blame marijuana.

Alone, I mean. It may have contributed, but I think it's unreasonable to place the blame entirely there. Marijuana has been used as a scapegoat for so many things that it was not responsible for, you know, that I just feel really uncomfortable saying "Marijuana did this to this person", particularly when there are so many variables in our environment alone that could do the same thing, you know?

Bleh -- kinda looks like it'll rain -- just windy and overcast right now. Now, we could use the rain, but , I really wish I could keep my car clean for seven days straight It looks sooooo good when it's clean, but then it rains, and it's back to looking like ... eh, it, I suppose. I do, after all, like rain
