Yes. We have. We came to the mountain with the express purpose of moving away from the rest of the group. Remember?

*The force of the blast hurs Ice backwards into a blood heap where he lays a little too still for a moment. With smoke still riseing from his crumpled form he begins to push himself up*

*static then a wheezing other worldly voice* Boys could be so kind as to take out the artillery?

*Ice pushes himself up and turns to face the group again his chest is a gaping wound but you can already see blood filling in and beginng to close it, his coat is tattered and flutters out behind him*

Cough...god I hate mondern weaponry it hurts so much more than swords used to.

*Ice pounces with inhuman speed and scoops up Lauri in one hand with the other he reaches into his still open wound and pulls out a handfull of blood and gore, his eyes glow red as he hurls it into a shadow where it hits and spaltters making the shadow ripple like water*

Sea into the portal now!!!

*Ice grabs Whitley with his other hand and jumps full force into Sea knocking her into the portal with him. It ripples once and returns to being a shadow again*

*a short distance away a shadow ripples and spills Ice, Sea, Lauri, and Whitley out quite unceremoniously onto the ground. Ice drops Lauri and whitley and clutches the hand that was holding whitley his still healing chest and rolls away from the group to end up curled into a fetal position facing away from them shivering slightly*

*lauri dives for whitley and gathers it up into her arms as soon as her feet touch the ground then she starts to laugh. she gently touches her bleeding arm and laughs louder. a really happy laugh. then she runs to Ice and crouches down beside him and looks at his hand where he'd held whitley then looks at the rest of him concerned*

oh poor baby does it hurt? Whitley doesnt like spring anymore, Whitley wants to find spring and hurt him. *then she seems to forget that ice is in a shivering ball probably wanting to be left alone* Hey Ice Ice guess what!!

*she runs around the area that the group landed in then runs to sea*

sea guess what guess what! I know what whitley is!!i know what it's saying! *she grins like a kid who just figured out how to tie her shoes*

*looks slightly dizzy and concerned*

what's it saying, lauri? would you like me to fix your shoulder?

*glances at ice and wondering if she can help*

oh, and no probs, ice.

*Affy continues grinning at the group of wizards around him*

Ah! I've just received word from Garius. He says that he has located your base in another dimension not too far from here and has procurred some evidence. He'll be back shortly!

*Ice Groans and coughs as he struggles to get up. He tears a strip of cloth off of his coat and wraps his hand in it. Barley managing to get to his feet he limps over to Luari and Sea, his injured hand thurst under his coat. His chest is healed but his clothing is in tatters. Low on power he has given up the glamour that kept him looking human. His eyes sheen red and his fangs poke out from under his lips. His skin is deathly pale and drawn tightly against his skeleton giving him a very cadaverous appearance. He gets to Sea and falls heavly down beside her leaning against a tree*

I believe I share dear Whitley opinion of Spring, Lauri.
*His eyes focus on her shoulder*
You sure you don't need some help with your wound?

*See's Sea's concerned look*
I'll be fine luv just need some more time to heal. When I touched Lauri's friend the power backlashed and...*motions towards his hand*

*Leans his head back against the tree and closes his eyes taking a deep breath. There is a slight shiver of power as Ice contacts his human servent and familiar, then he relaxes and speaks with his eyes still closed*

You were saying petite, about your enigmatic new friend. What pray tell his he?

it was telling me to not be frightened and it was gonna look after me, it was saying it would take all the pain away and it did!! *she looks excited* you see i know what i did now, when i was scared before, remember sea, i drew all the bad things, everything i could remember, everything i was scared of, all my fear and then i made it real but there was so much and it didn't know how to form and so it made whitley. That's what whitley is, it's all my fear! so i'm not scared anymore. that's why whitley only likes me because it knows i'll look after it because in a way it is me!

*she snuggles close to whitley*

*she crawls close to sea and ice and clings to sea's leg and ice's arm*

i'm sorry it hurt you ice and i'm sorry i was angry sea but whitley really is mine, you can't touch it. *looks up at ice* my arm doesn't hurt, whitley took the hurt *she grins*

*GL reappears as the invisibility spell wears off. He looks a bit disoriented at first but then blinks and takes a deep breath.*

The transfer is a bit disorienting, since it happens so fast. I'm getting more used to it all the time.

*GL throws several arrows on the table.*

Perhaps you might recognise these. I, uh, acquired them near a rather unusual mill where you have one of your fixed portals.

*The Wizards pass the arrows around, looking incredulous. The head Wizard scowls as he examines them himself.*

Head Wizard: Well, they certainly LOOK authentic. Our lab will confirm, of course.

*The Head Wizard motions to a page, who takes one of the arrows away.*

It may not hurt luv but I'm still concerned about blood loss or infection. You really should have it healed up. *cough* I don't have enough power left to transport us to the lab so we'll have to make our way down the mountain on foot and use one of the vehicles. Kristine, my human servent, should meet us at the base with a car.
But for at least a few more minutes lets just rest here.

*yawns and stretches out on the floor next to sea and ice with whitley held tightly in one arm*

okies ice, i'm kinda tired now anyway, can do something about...*yawns* arm and you.......*yawn* you too, you all hurt.....get fixed aswel and then *yawns and falls asleep mumbling to herself*

i'll heal her arm, ice.

*sea leans down and gently puts a hand on lauri's wound, heals it, then straightens up*

when you're ready, i'll carry her down to the car. she's holding onto whitley, so i won't have to touch him.

*Vomar managed to get a glance of the arrows brought by GL. He looks up at the mention of a lab*

A lab? A lab that can define whether or not an artifact originated from a certain dimension? Well now, that's certainly a start. Garius, perhaps we were wrong in our original assesment of the state these beings are in. Why for a modest fee, they could be organized into high-competitive workers in a few of the less sophisticated real estate markets out there.

*she wriggles a bit when sea heals her arm and then starts to talk in her sleep....about all the things she and whitley would do to spring if they ever caught up with him*

and then the desert..yes and no eyelids, look at the sun spring look! then paper, yes whitley, cuts with paper lots of tinybaby little baby cuts, yes whitley that's right you're my baby, and then lemon juice all over little baby cuts make it sting like little girls hurt knees but more and more and *she starts humming in her sleep*

*Stretches and cracks his neck*
I guess we should get a move on I don't know where the rest of those sorcerers are and Springs still out there somewhere.
*He stands with the help of the tree and looks down at Lauri*
Try not to wake her Luv. I'm still worried about her lovley little pet.

*he close his eyes and extends his senses out to their max, when he opens his eyes they're glowing, ever so slightly, red*

Let us hurry its not far to the bottem but its too dangerous to hang around. I hear something far in the distance.

*Most of the wizards at the head table are looking very impressed, and even the head wizard is stroking his beard thoughtfully. After a short wait, a page enters, walks over to the head wizard and whispers something in his ear. The wizard nods and the page walks away.*

Head Wizard: It seems that the arrows are genuine. Perhaps before you leave for where ever you were going, you might consent to meet with some of our senior members to discuss matters of mutual concern?

*GL looks at Vomar and shrugs*

GL: Well, we have nothing particularly pressing at the moment, so we don't mind wast...er, spending a little time with you here.

Head Wizard: Fine. Then it's settled. If you would like to wait for us in the room through here *points to a doorway behind the head table*, we will quickly finish our meeting here and our senior members will join you presently.

*GL walks around the end of the table and behind the wizards to the indicated doorway, then inside.*

*Vomar follows. The room looks a bit like a hotel lobby, but with only one exit and no refistration desk. One of the good hotels, too, not the cheap ones. Vomar, however, has seldom seen a hotel, and never from the inside, so this doesn't register as he sits on the edge of some fountain and the door closes behind them*

Those wizards out there. Odd fellows.

*Wonders if the room is bugged*

*continues mumbling even more evil things she'd like to do to spring and reaches out out to some invisible thing that she seems to be strangling then falls quiet with a peaceful smile on her face. Whitley seems to glow an even deeper shade of black*

*looks with concern at lauri and whitley and begins to limp down the mountain*
