Questions Only AND Word Count
Sanity FM Posted Oct 21, 2001
Is it my lack of creativity which makes it difficult for me to think up questions of more then 10 words, or wot?

Does a lack of words matter ?

Does that not depend on how many the last person specified, and if i wish to follow the rules?

Ahh, indeed, yes, but in general, surely, the more words- the better?

Do not really need words, but, actually, rather, numbers, because, after all, the makeup of computer data is all just zeroes and ones, and this, in effect, renders it all useless?

Does this not assume that there is no distinction to be made between data and information, which regards data as equivalent to the raw material which may be processed by a calculation device and information as the semantic interpretation of that data?

Dont you often find in these sorts of situations that there is always some smart alec who decides to switch to hexadecimal just give the thread an even more esoteric appearance?

Isn't an esoteric thread with random variety preferable to a thread that conforms to bland communal rules?

Random variety is all very well, but this thread is surely all about the beauty of words for words sake, rather than maths for maths sake?

I'm guessing base 10?
{9(i believe in real numbers)}

Would Base 10 be a reasonable guess, or not?
[4 + 3i] (I believe in imaginary numbers)

Would i know what "i" represents if i'd passed A level maths? Does it make the answer 32? If not, do i get thrown out for using the wrong number of words?

Would not throwing you out for that be unreasonable?

Do you think i'd have broken the rules if i could have helped it? Is it a crime to break silences here?

Wayfarer-- I only wish I were crackly Posted Oct 30, 2001
how could it be a crime?
[Sanity- "i", although actually that's just the closest this keybaord can get to the actual symbol, is the imaginary number, ie, square root of negative one.(all other imaginary numbers can be factored out to a radical multiplied by "i")]

Is it the individual or is it society that constitutes the real criminal?

Is it more likely to not actually be anything to do with that?
