Need any of us attract others?
Bring here sisters, mothers and brothers?
I am quite content,
To never pay rent,
And sit here if I had my druthers.

For critics here keep to themselves,
And seldom do they ring those bells,
That point out my rhyme,
And meter and time,
Is often best left on the shelves.

Egads! and I thought that this thread
Was over, long gone, kaput, dead!
But my rhyming muscle
After quite a long tussle
Is now ready to forge on ahead.

"Well," said the bard with a yawn
It seems that we aren't too far gone
A line here and there
Suggest what we dare
And we, clever or not, carry on

Carry On should indeed be our creed,
Whether follow or pass or we lead,
For here we may stand,
Our limerick breed,
We become what we leave or we seed.

I'm glad that an acion of mine
Should bring others back to the shrine
The Goddess of Meter
Is a demanding creature
Who compells us to walk the line.

Why did I write *breed* when I meant *band*?

My rhyming old mind is a-flutter,
Memories, my stories such a clutter,
One really would think,
That one little drink
Wouldn't channel the stuff from the gutter.

You might be surprised to see me
I've not posted since April '03
But it seems that this thread
has bounced back from the dead
So I'm now a returned absentee

So this thread now is moving along
Each post rings out like a song
Even Ugi is here
Let's get into gear
And keep rhyming - be witty and strong.

There can be no more noble pastime,
Than expressing one's nature in rhyme.
So join forces with me,
Go harangue your MP;
That there's no National-rhyme-day's a crime.

Forgive me if I sound somewhat trite
But this thread's always been a delight
With ingenious poets
And a few all-know-its
In a place we can share what we write

This thread exercises my brain

What can really be seen as perversion
If consensual and lacking coercion?
What you do with a spouse
Or at night in your house
Seems no more than amusing diversion

I strongly deny being perverted
Though I admit to being diverted

I've just had a week's holiday
