I'm a straight woman, and I found last night's gay sex'n'violence on Torchwood really quite titillating. Is this pervy? Lots of straight men seem to be turned on by the idea of girl-on-girl.
Leading to my second request for opinions - Do gay folk find heterosexual sex scenes a turn-on?

Yes you are. The BBC doesn't commission programmes which titillate. You evidently failed to observe the subtle artistic nuances of the production - the counterpoint between the leading characters, the inner emotional struggle, the neo-ironic leitmotif.

So Torchwood is still going on with the homosexual stuff then?
Well some women find men/men sex quite intrigueing. They seem to be a lot fewer than men who find woman/woman sex exciting though. As for the word pervert, some people on here seem to quite dislike that word.

As someone who's halloween anagram is eat bum, do you really need a reply? (It's yes, just in case you didn't know).
Remarkable firefly,
Yes, probably. Don't worry about it. If you dig into it, everyone has their own favourite things. It's nothing to worry about if yours isn't something you'd expect.
Re the second question, no idea! Where's Roymondo, or BEG when you need them?

"So Torchwood is still going on with the homosexual stuff then?"
Oh yes. Took them all of about 10minutes!
"Its Perves wear purple day quite soon I think "
Um, so my purple tie/shirt combo for today is too early then?

Have a look at YouTube. Several hundred videos of apparently straight guys kissing each other for a dare to delighted screaming female accompaniment.

In the absence of Roy and BEG I'll give my : I don't find heterosexual porn remotely attractive or stimulating.
The stuff with John Barrowman and James Marsters was extremely -worthy though - I do wonder about James Marsters, he seems to enjoy playing characters who get the kicked out of them his partners. Also, I prefered the stuff between Jack and Ianto, just that little bit more subtle.

Ianto's a bit more genteel isn't he? It's nice to watch something that might have genuine feelings behind it.

Alfster Posted Jan 17, 2008
No, it's all bi-sexual stuff.
And don't get me onto the Ianto/Jack thing - one of the worst bit of plotting in history. One week Ianto is saying he would happily watch Jack die after killing his cyberbird and the next there are intimations about doing stuff with a stopwatch...now, being a bit of a perv I thought I could work that one out but...no...still can't get that one.

As pervy as I might be, I canĀ“t figure out what you could do sexually to a stopwatch.

The voice of Roy:
Straight titillation can be good, but only in context.
Gay titillation can be good, but only in context.
Straight titillation goes on all the time in telly. This is as it should be: most people are straight.
It's a nice thrill to see a bit of gay action in a natural and unforced context, where it's part of the character and storyline development (such as Shameless) because you don't notice it as 'gay', you just see it as part of the character.
It means nothing in Torchwood. The overt omni-sexuality in Torchwood irritates me. It doesn't ring true, isn't a pleasant surprise, and feels like it's a manifestation of RTD's personal mission to raise awareness. I'm fully behind the motive but dismayed by the clumsy implementation.

Most of my female friends thoroughly enjoy a bit of man-on-man action. In fact, nothing seems to fill the lounge at one of our parties more than a DVD of gay porn.
But then, most of my female friends frequent 4chan, which is a bad start.

I agreed with Roy. Not subtle, not realistic, not in context and not remotely interesting. It sort of winds me up that this group of 20-something dropouts, responsible for defending the planet from alien attack, can't keep their dicks in their trousers for more than half an hour at a time.

so I guess the suspense and story arc for this season of TORCHWOOD (you have to say it in capitals, and at least once every 10 minutes) is which team members (fnar) and hangers-on Martha Jones will end up shagging?
Care to start the betting?
