As the Stone Henge of H2G2...

Community! Hello!
If Stone Henge is one of Britains greatest treasures, then surely this is one of h2g2's. Now as much as I'd like to, I'm not here to lavish praise on the Thingite campaign.
It is, at present, one of the old guard of active communities. It is my intention to write an article for the Post (not officially ratified, but we'll see where we go, and who replies to this as how successful this is going to be), about the most active groups on h2g2. I'm not going to limit the term group, to one that has an official page, I suspect that the most popular areas may be threads.
I'm essentially fascinated by the concept that there are popular areas, that I've either not heard of, or have until now (or possibly afterwards also) had no interest in.
Really in the short term from this wonderful group, I'd like to hear from representatives (group leader, representative, or someone who just really enjoys the group) - or just anyone who wants to talk about it. Not to limit, but to give a taste of what I'm after I'd ask the questions : What is it that makes this group great to you? What's happened lately that's made you want to post to the group? What made you join the group? Which people have affected you most in the group? Has it made your h2g2 experience different/better/sideways? Or anything that you'd like to say about the group.
In the larger term, I'm interested in any other groups/conversations/people you regularly get involved in. And what it is that inspires you about those? I'd like to go to those groups themselves obviously, but certainly feel free to discuss them here also.
My hope is essentially to join the dots of the h2g2 community, and hopefully give a voice for them in the post. Hopefully so that the communities can feel more collected, and not so isolated.
So, over to you.

Began typing out a reply then we had a brief power cut and I lost it. Will try again.

to join the dots of the h2g2 community, EH you do realize if it forms a swear word, or a rude picture... it will be moderated

I didn't have time to compose my thoughts last night, but I just wanted to say...
The "Stone Henge of H2G2" was actually called "Hoohenge" and consisted of a series of enormous stones swinging on bungee cords and bouncing between dimensions. They could show up on any thread, but were mostly centred around <./>F1</.>. I haven't seen them for a while, but I assume they're still out there...

>> What is it that makes this group great to you?
The Thingite Campaign's greatness is deeply rooted in surreality; its gnarled, comical trunk supports sturdy branches of playful invention, with uncountably many light-hearted leaves providing the cool shade of creative whimsy while merrily performing the photosynthetic conversion of Thurs to Thing.
>> What's happened lately that's made you want to post to the group?
Well, there's that nice tree over there, it looks like a great place for a picnic. Anybody for some ?
>> What made you join the group?
I was initially attracted to the Thingite Campaign when I discovered this group of people who start their week out with Sodit. That's more or less what I blurt out one morning out of seven upon opening my eyes and realizing the weekend is over.
>> Which people have affected you most in the group?
I enjoy all the fun posts from my fellow Thingites, even as I revel in the pathetic, whining complaints from the Th*rsd*yites.
>> Has it made your h2g2 experience different/better/sideways ?
My h2g2 experience is so much richer for knowing my fellow Thingites. Since I've been involved with making the Thingite Calendar, I've had the opportunity to explore the Guide and share Guide entries in a different way.
