Suitsat - Grand Keeper of Cheat Codes, All Time Loser at Hunt The Wocket, hereby proclaim'ed!

*bangs gabble* smiley - wizard

Here is thine holy spork smiley - spork, use wisely , pointy bits forward, there's a good chap.

On the subject of cheat codes my two all time favourites were

Comic Relief "Sleepwalker" on the Amiga 600: typing Dingadingdangmydangalonglinglong into the title screen turned the protagonist sleepwalker's red nose green, indicating the cheat mode was active. From memory this conferred infinite lives and the ability to skip levels.

My absolutle favourite cheat takes cheating to realms of the frankly bizarre. It works, unbelievably, I know because I've done it.

Creatures 2 on the Commodore 64: Load the game from the tape (yes we're talking a few years ago now)

Once the menu screen has loaded take you index finger and lick it.
(I'm not making this up)
and rub it across port 2 vigourously.

The big fuzzy creature will flash multi-coloured - and I forget exactly what this did but I think it stopped your creatures getting killed in the end-of chapter traps which were always fiendishly difficult and usually involved chainsaws.

Welcome to Clan Thing.

Clive. smiley - ok

Googling "Commodore 64 Rub port 2" brought forth the following.

Just to proove I aint makin it up (though I did get the port number wrong, so I'm not all knowing after all.)

I hope that Comic Relief "Sleepwalker" offered the opportunity to actually type all of that in. Can't see a player typing that in a modern real time shooter with 50 monsters approaching. smiley - biggrin

Thanks for the spork. What do I do with it? Display on personal page, use only the spork when eating from now on, wear it as a lucky charm, search H2G2 for upgrades until becomes a multifunctional combat spork?

smiley - cheers
*smiley - run to add Thingite info to personal space*

It is multi-purpose. Ocassionally used on the field of battle against hordes of marauding Thursdayists - but more often than not used for picking up croutons in soup and other things in-between such as using the specically modifed tines to tighten nuts on screws on the Trebuchet we keep in the shed behing The Uniform's thread.

smiley - silly

If you are familiar with using GuideML - the coding language of The Guide - I've included a piece of code that displays the crossed sporks shield of The Thingites on The Manifesto. Feel free to nick it and use on your Personal space.

About that Trebuchet: I'll search for cheat codes for those loose nuts. There may also be codes to spawn a fresh Treb in case it gets hit, lost or stolen.

smiley - erm Clive, I did not see myself in the list (I mean the pull-down list). Is that because it updates slowly or is it a special roll of honor or sumthin?

I offer my apologies as well, for grossly misunderstanding the Situation At The Very Top.
I am deeply smiley - sorry
And I propose to meet elsewhere as the title of this conversation is becoming increasingly inappropriate (I mean, I already joined)

Would you believe, there's several convo's just for this very thing! Among them such diverse names as No, no, no! and the Boardroom of Evil, Plotting and General Mayhem. We're on the verge of discovering the identity of thsi 'general Mayhem'.
