Hiya, everybody. I've been a bit quiet lately - a bout of the 'flu caught me off-guard and I'm a bit worn out. Just want to say a few things:
1) I have a huge amount of faith in humanity. I think people are great, wonderful. If you don't have any preconceived ideas or expectations of them they will surprise you pleasantly again and again.
2) I think we need a revolution, but I am totally against violence. I think the revolution can happen just through constructive, creative, harmonious thinking, talking and acting.
3) Our idea of Utopia must be an "open" one, therefore not tied to any particular fixed philosophy or system. Frankly I don't give a fig if we never attain a "perfect" Utopia. I live in the Third World and here the average person leads a totally preposterously deprived life. For us, American and British lifestyles are impossible dreams. Anything that is better than what we have now will do. Just a life of moderation and common human dignity, not our present hell of endless suffering.

Believe me, the American and British lifestyle is overrated...
What I wish we could do is balance the differences between the first and third worlds - we have way too much materialism and greed in our culture, and more than enough resources - while the third world is suffering through lack of resources which we could easily spare. I think Utopia is not the materialistic, consumer-based lifestyle which we lead in Britain.
This is probably rather obsequious of me but I'm heartily sick of the culture I'm in right now. In many ways, I wouldn't mind a healthy dose of third world culture...

PJ, your address is wrong! Here is the correct one for the New, Improved Noticeboard:
http://www.h2g2.com/A438635
Jenny, I PROMISE (unless disaster strikes again) that soon this coming week I will post notices to your new noticeboard. I have lots and lots of nature-conservation websites that I want to link up, but first I have to go get and write down all the URL's. I also have a few "philosophical" pieces about our attitudes towards other people. In between I'm working on the wildlife park. Peregrin, I'm planning an "Aardvark Heaven" section where there will be lots of ant and termite nests! Anyways you can also contribute to the park - anyone can. Just write the relevant entries and I'll include them in the final layout! The park is gonna be huge and infinitely expandable!

As usual, the "correct" address turns out to be incorrect. Shows you how fallible we humans are. Beware of dogmatism!
Here is the new "correct" address:
