A full blown English (Breakfast) not the tea :-D

The Oak is a fine tree. Doesn't do as well in London as the Plane, on account of not shedding its bark.

My parents listened to the radio shows of 'Hitchikers guide' and I've had Douglas Adams books around since I was a kid. I'm geeky enough to be dead excited about the forthcoming movie, and I've been at the h2g2 website for a very long time, off and on. But don't let that put you off...

I'm still a smoker, I smoke about 10 cutters choice roll-ups a day... I'm not even trying to give up at the moment, just maybe cut down a little and make the tobacco last longer.

How did you quit?

I planned it. I spoke to my doctor, who sent me to see the nurse in charge of their smoking clinic.

I decided 1st Feb 2004 would be my start date and had my last cigarette at 23.45 on 31st Jan 2004.

I used patches and hootoo. smiley - erm But I kept forgetting to change them smiley - erm

After 8 weeks, the nurse said she thought I didn't need anymore help and discharged me. I have been like this since smiley - smiley

From what my freinds say who have quitted thats the way to do it. It seems to be all about motivation and commitment, and I jsut don't really want to quit at the moment, even though I know its bad for my health.

Maybe just one more year of smoking and boozing, and then when I turn thirty next year I can mend my ways...

you see, that makes me want to have as much boozy, smokey fun as possible between now and then, which is hardly a great attitude!

I was the same as you. I didn't want to quit because I was still enjoying smoking.

It was never a burden to me, just my family!

Then I just decided to stop, so I did.

Fair enough.

How did you end up as Rob the Carpet's keeper? Haven't you got enough to look after with your family? smiley - winkeye

Anyway Godben sent me into the TA's war centre to get Rob the Carpet! smiley - biggrin

I sort of got attached to it.. and if ever Rob the Carpet came back, he will find I am also his Goddess too!! smiley - laugh
