I have just discovered the powers that be have set a 400 conversation limit on our personal spaces. I had over 4 thousand.
It was like coming home, opening the front door and discovering that
the back wall and 90% of the rooms were gone.
Some of my best 'essays' are now inaccessible. I had plans to revisit some of those old threads and copy out my better postings hoping to create a collection suitable for print publication.
I figured that after five years I might have enough to warrant the effort. Now they are gone. My current convo list only goes back to March 2005 and I haven't said much of any importance in the past few months.
But I understand that they are still there somewhere and like this one can be activated by someone who can still find them do a posting.
peace

2 points and a query:
First, I have been informed that TPTB have assured others that the 400 limitation is a temporary measure due to recent 'Busy Server' problems and should be remedied eventually.
Secondly, in Forums such as The BOF Inn where this Snug thread appears, all the older conversations are still accessible under 'other conversations' no matter how old they are as long as there are fewer than 400. There are approx 25 conversations in this Forum, some inactive since Dec 2000 but all still accessible, so I guess I can begin my searches here.
Does anyone have any favourite quotes or memorable postings of mine that I should include in my book? I'm going to call it "A Hitchhikers Guide To Cyberspace - Or How to Carry 0n Online Conversations Without Paranoia or Regrets". I'm looking for those postings where my pontifications have had some significant impact other than simply killing the thread as I have done in so many.
Oh, and if the barkeep is awake perhaps I can stand the next round and offer mulled wine or eggnog to all.

And I remember you well enough to know that "Have some turkey" is just your way of saying 'get stuffed'. And yes, I intend to!
Hope all is well in the Sou'west and that Santa finds you making merry.

OK, this turkey is fresh, so we won't have the boil up that we did last month.

I wondered where you'd got to, Pinky. Well, yes, there's quite a cleaning job, I suppose. Happy new year to you too.
