Trout Montague Posted Jan 30, 2009
"Licking ... Frogs ... French ... Beans ..."
These words filtered through the smoky opiate hullabaloo. Trout Montague lay back amid the slime that coated the chaise longue to long for the lusty and eyes closed savoured the scent of scampi nik-naks. Ah Golden Wonder, he slurred, having shared a four-pack of Tennants Super with a gang of kids on the cycle path. It had been hard this week pondered the useless salmonid, harder than ever before ...
"BEHIND YOU! ... BEHIND YOU!", sang out with joyful prepubescent urgency. The fish, opened a lazy eye and observed THE Seal, all dressed up in his super hero cape and S&M hood. He'd seen it before. Trout was a lover not a fighter.

I hear they just roll a dice and add three...

Apparently no, they tie you to their car-keys via a bundle of knotted wool. After that, it's pretty basic:
10 REM *** HOW ** TO * CHOOSE * THE ** SCORES ***
20 FOR X=1 to 14
30 GXB(X)=RND (10)
40 PIN(X)=RND(10)
50 SKR(X)=RND(10)
(etc.)

so you *did* set up a webcam in the Judges Room!
Oh, ah, sorry, that was last week. This week we licked the screens. Well, *I* did, Skanky tried those Cane Toads A12945017 I shipped in especially, and the buzz last a week, so I hearand we got no work done at all.
to burn incriminating evidence of last night's *work*

Screen licking ... the things that go on in here!
Not much more than 24 hours and the roller coaster starts again. What's the bet it's AWW this time. Compulsory poetry?
That last one was difficult. I'll try and vote this round, this time I've made sure I've read all the entries (and a good lot they are too) before the new task is given. Couldn't read them all in time, last time.

I wouldn't mind a poetry challenge, although I can understand that woman who turned down the Poet Laureate post cos the muse cannot be summoned to order.

personally i am more interested to see how the public voting has affected our scores. It would be best to give us last isses overall ranking (ie including the public votes) and then give our marks for the more recent contribution.
The wodering of what they will give us to do this time does also figure inmy head, but i would much rather know myself to be no longer in last place.

A telegram popped through my slot earlier this week, but it's a little mysterious as of yet. I think I might have to soak it in lemon juice then hold it over a flame on Thursday morning some time to make any sense of it: A46828948

Do they include competence in GuideML in the judging?
If so, I'll be out.

I think it's all a plot by the Italics to get us writing more for the EG and UG anyway, so I'm viewing it all with slitted eyes, and rose-tinted glasses. Or even merlot-tinted glasses.

I don't know if it's an Italic plot, but I imagine the main point is to get more stuff into PR and AWW and hopefully stimulate interest in both on a longer-term basis than the competition. It has to be a good thing, no?
