Mini, people can write as many shell entries as they like, but competitors in The Stretcher can only submit one for the contest. Can you make it clear to us which is your Entry to be judged, please?

oh ok, i would like the entry on "Alternative Uses for Eggshells" to be the one that is taken into consideration for the purposes of the competition.
The other one was more me seeing if i could write about more difficult stuff, i will leave it in the AWW, but it does noot need reviewed for the purposes of the competition.

I have had the thought that those entries submitted into peer review will probably be 'improved' by the review process.
Fair enough if everyone benefits, but perhaps an alternative forum should be specified for future entries - they can always be shoved into Peer Review afterwards.
Though having said that ~ this first challenge has led to a glut of interesting entries in PR.

frenchbean Posted Jan 13, 2009
Actually, it's the same in the AWW: comments and alterations are being made there too.
Is this fair? I agree with McKay that perhaps they should be 'held' somewhere else until the closing date, then released into AWW and PR.
We'd still get the glut happening; just a few days' later. And it doesn't prevent us from changing the entries... but we do it after the closing date.

"Fair" depends on what the competition is for: if it's just judging a completed work then you have a point, but presumably the judges can see how entries progress in PR, in what state they were submitted, how the authors respond to comments etc.

I've taken the conversation over to F12238019?thread=6227186. I'd be very grateful if we could keep this thread for submissions only - we don't want to miss anything important by burying it in a wider discussion
