A light coloured ale, hoppy and refreshing. Quite dry, and leaves the mouth feeling clean. No bitter aftertaste.
A nice pint, one of a selection I was given for my birthday (Jan 26). waitrose seem to stock some very nice, interesting beers. If you steer clear of the self-consciously folksy (not sure whether Waggledance fits this category) you can get some good ales from there.
Cheers!

Waggledance is superb, now it's brewed by Youngs. Used to be good several years ago brewed by Vaux, but went downhill quick.
Summer Lightning is one of those beers that is starting to suffer from it's own success. Several years back when Hopback were still virtually unheard of, yes there was a time, Summer Lightning wasn't even their main beer. In fact, it was only occasionally brewed. But it was superb, it was easy to keep in a cellar and the brewer sold it reasonably cheap. They also made the effort to make sure it was easily available.
This could be the problem, it was a good drinking beer. One of the first main stream "lager ales", those really light bitter that could easily be mistaken for a lager.
Since it did become so popular though the quality has gone downhill a little. You can tell that it is being mass brewed, which is a shame.
I'll stick to "Thunderstorm", which is now only just starting to go downhill. Bring back "ThunderBolt" is what I say, or even the standard "Wheat Beer" that they used to brew.
