God is the sum total of all unconsciousness thought which is creative."
ALL AS IN ALL THE HUMANS THAT HAVE EVER LIVED?
Yes, reincarnation.
SO, DO WE GO THRU LIFE FOR KICKS? LIKE TO SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE AN INDIVIDUAL PHYSICAL BODY AND BE SEPARATED FROM THE COLLECTIVE?
Yes. although 'kick's is a narrow word. try evovling by expereince instead.
Quantum physicists believe that the universe is made of something more like thought than matter !
I'll try to find a link...can't remember where I put it
THEORETICAL PHYSICS?
Absolutely nothing !!!
I wasn't allowed what is commonly known as further education. I've had to work stuff out for myself

you: Yes, reincarnation.
me: do you believe that each life we are given is random? or is there an order to it?
me: SO, DO WE GO THRU LIFE FOR KICKS?
you: Yes. although 'kick's' is a narrow word. try evovling by expereince instead.
me: i get it. i was using "kicks" for comic effect i for one realize that life in general is not just a bunch of "kicks"
or s#!ts and giggles as i like to say
you: THEORETICAL PHYSICS? Absolutely nothing !!!
me: i can tell you 90% of what i know right here
it describes "reality" at a very small scale.
nothing is discrete.
everything is probability.
observation affects the actual state of things. [subjective interacts with objective.]
there are 6 flavors of quarks, including one called strange.
the smartest people in the world believe that the quantum world cannot be fully understood by the human brain.
quantum theory and einstein's theory of relativity describe "reality" on 2 different spatial scales.
the M-theory is supposed to incorporate both of them, i think.
that's 90% of what i know
"further education" is not as important as RAW intelligence and the desire to THINK. in fact, being "highly educated" does not necessarily correlate with being "smarter". one of the smartest people i know is a medical secretary.
she's way smarter than most psych resident colleagues of mine
so, what do you do for a living?
i THINK out.
gotta see another patient. it's 2 pm here in not-so-sunny rochester, MN, USA.

sorry forgot to answer this one
'can YOU bend spoons? '
No
'do you think that we [as subjective experiencers] influence the world around us?'
Yes.
'In quantum physics, observation changes the state of things. '
This is true, thought influencing outcome?
'so, maybe, if a baby was raised not to believe in a physical world, then he would be able to bend spoons '
I'm not sure how you'd raise a baby in this way.
How would you feed it or touch it?
It could not survive. It becomes a hyperthetical, without any solid results.
.....I suppose Jesus might be a candidate

i think hasselfree was saying that
god is everything
we are all part of everything
so, we = god ?
she might flame me for this
to hasselfree, don't kick my a$$ if i twisted your words

We are everything, and everything is us.
Nothing is something and so everything must be nothing.

Amanda, are you on an acid trip?
but, i beg to differ. i think that nothing IS, in fact, NOTHING and not something

I Think
Yes that is what I'm saying.
You're not putting words in my mouth, you are taking some understanding from what I said. Not belief, but understanding , which is a very big thing to be able to do !
The very best thing a person can ever say to another in this world is;
'I understand you !'
And. First there was nothing.
And then there was everything and the everything was something to be explored and the everything that was now manifested as physical (ie something) could only truly be explored in the physical, so the creator (the Everything) entered the physical in the form of living things, and when that physical component wore out, the part of it that was the creator,(that we call soul for want of a better word) returns to it's source and takes on another form that enables it to explore other areas of physicality. In the making of this choice of experiencing things, there is no good or bad, wrong or right.
Until such time as there is no need to become physical because everything has been experienced and understood.
Hmm that sounds horribly biblical
but it's the conclusion I arrived at after experiencing flat lined death myself.
I don't have to believe it, I simply choose to do so.
Bottom line is, we all have the option to choose what we believe in, whether it be; life has a meaning or no meaning at all.
Laws, politics, religion, peer groups, can legislate things, but can't get into our heads to change the opinions we have created from the personal experiences we have had.
Unless we choose to go with the brain washing !......
.....which can be quite comforting......

i like it when other people understand me, too
btw, about this:
And. First there was nothing.
And then there was everything ....
Until such time as there is no need to become physical because everything has been experienced and understood.
holy cow!
did you come up with that yourself?
it's beautiful! you must be a poet or something
btw, what happened to ya? the flat line...
oh...one of the most impressive things i've noticed about you is your emphasis on the importance of one's own experiences as shapers of our "realities". 'tis true and most folks don't seem to realize this

I think there was a a wander off topic there!
It begin with the wandering from the idea that fundamental religions are suppressive (in my humble opinion) and from this link which another poster had asked us to read, which was a bit worrying to me
A935165
I tend to get a bit terrier like when confronted with the words "Thou Shalt Not......". and when I ask 'why?' the answer is because God told ME and I'm telling YOU.
Again this kind of thinking, is about people attempting to force their opinions on others, with the result that they end up with an inner conflict, because what they are being told (in this instance sex is bad) does not equate with what they intuitively 'know' from their own experience.
No doubt we'll be back on topic shortly

i read that link and the lights come on
i get hostile when people act zombie-like about God and i wonder if there's anything more than a tape recorder up there in their noggin
to me, what matters is not WHAT somebody believes, but WHY they believe it. i can't stand it when they just seem to be parrots .
but, if they can tell me good reasons WHY they think so, then, hey, i'm cool with it .
that's precisely why your belief in re-incarnation hasn't decreased my respect for you at all.
you're a THINKER!
