Yeah I guess so I mean you've made another human and in that human is your gene and it said that that this very same same gene can be traced back. I like the idea of the DVD saved memory but I distrust computers and lets face it they do freeze, crash or whatever else. Well mine does anyway. I read that in some parts of Russia there are folk who who just repeat in poetry their book of life and this is passed on from generation to generation each adding a bit more. Not much chance of hitting the wrong key there eh!

Yes that is true, but I asked the question about experience being passed on to ask you to think about the other part of the human being that is not physical.
We pass on our physical attributes to our progeny, but what becomes of our spiritual attributes.
Well a computer is man made and therefor subject to a few bugs.
Who made the man?

to hasselfree:
it hit me last night. i can't believe it took my subconscious a few hours to figure out your nifty little acronym
and, i'd to discusss the Matrix. it's a spin off of the old brain in the vat philosophical question.
to amanda:
please watch the matrix, too, ok
peteY out!
TNSIHE
hasselfree Posted Jan 19, 2003
OK
Go watch Matrix again, but this time count how many messiah references/coincidences occur.
some other stuff.
What is the music playing underneath the Oracle speech
What is she cooking?
Who is cipher referring to when he does his deal?
What's the first word to appear on Neo's computer that connects to the question in this topic?
What is Neo and anagram of? (easy !)
This is just a game/exercise in seeing things, that can be missed.
TNSIHE
%- | ? Posted Jan 19, 2003
ok, i'll watch the Matrix again next chance i get.
but, it appears that this time, i'm not gonna be able to just watch all the killer action, huh
Neo is One, right? couldn't be anything else, except Eon
btw, i can't dismiss the idea that we're all must brains in vats made to believe in the matrix as reality. how would we know?
petey out for now
TNSIHE
hasselfree Posted Jan 19, 2003
Well I don't think of it as brains in vats, thinking more in mad terms of souls in bodies.
You can watch the 'killer action ' too
Any answers to the other questions before you re watch?
TNSIHE
%- | ? Posted Jan 19, 2003
i would guess that over 90% of the Earth's human population believes in a "soul", so i'm the one who's "mad" since i don't believe in it
i'll try to pull some other answers out of my a$$ here
Q What is the music playing underneath the Oracle speech?
A i have no idea, except probably something with religious undertones
Q What is she cooking?
A mealworms?
Q Who is cipher referring to when he does his deal?
A "Deal"?...umm...making a deal with satan? selling your soul?
Q What's the first word to appear on Neo's computer that connects to the question in this topic?
umm... i don't even remember the question in this topic
oh... the meaning of life... umm... "42"? hee hee
so, how'd i do
btw, i probably asked you this already, but do you believe in God? if so, what's your conceptualization of "Him"?
petey out!

A lot depends on your views I guess. I read a pretty fantastic book by Alan Alford. The Fingerprints of the Gods. If you ever get to read this you will see from where I am coming from. I just do not believe we came via chimpanzees etc. In the end though it's what YOU do with what you got that counts. Too many folk brighter than I have been asking these questions but I guess the answer really lies in your faith! In yourself and in others. But in any case the road map of life in my opinion has already been drawn and every new innovation and physical improvement to our lives, is, but only an awakening of a latent deeply buried fact hidden in the mightiest computer of all the human brain! In other words we've done it all before!

hasselfree Posted Jan 19, 2003
Zero points !
are you sure you have seen this film ?
The oracle is making -fortune- cookies
cipher is doing the deal , he asks that he remember nothing, he says that when he goes back into the matrix he wants to be somebody famous, and rich, an actor maybe
Ok Mr Reagan. ring any bells?
the tune playing is "I'm beginning to see the light"
the first words on the computer are
Searching...............
I believe in a creator and i use that word because the God word has been has to many negative elements attached to it.
I believe the creator is an 'it' not a he/she.
When Neo sells the disc to the guy who knocks on the door.
the guy thanks him and says "thanks man you're my own personal Jesus Christ."
Neo tells him that no-one should know he sells the discs and the reply is 'Ok if anyone asks me I'll say you don't exist.'
Trinity = Father. son and holy ghost.
the film is ; believe in yourself and you can do anything.
believing in yourself and finding out who you really are is the meaning of life?

to Afrabian
interesting stuff.
you: the road map of life in my opinion has already been drawn
me: i have entertained similar thoughts, but for a much different reason. i dabble in theoretical physics [a little bit...and i stress LITTLE], and i got to thinking that space-time might be "set".
most people consider 3-dimensional space to be just "out there" existing, waiting to be travelled to, like when you did all your travelling... but, time is generally thought of as completely separate. we are always in the "present" and the "future" is non-existent until we "pass" through it as it becomes the "present"...
now, space and time are considered part of a single entity "space-time". so, i got to thinking that perhaps 4-D spacetime is all "set". it just exists. so, just as we have maps of 3-d space [like a globe of Earth], one could conceive of a 4-dimensional spacetime map. the future might "exist". in fact, all times might just "exist" and, as time "passes" for us, we simply travel across the "time" dimension of this "set" STATIC 4-dimensional space-time.
YOU: we've done it all before!
ME: i'm not sure what "time" is, so perhaps we HAVE done it all before in a certain sense.
does my rambling make any sense?
peteY out!
zero!!!

man, i suck a$$
i saw it, but i was only interested in 2 things:
noticing the "brain in the vat" rip-off
and
watching Neo dodge bullets
fortune cookies? i shoulda known it was mealworms. i woulda remembered being grossed out
i remember cipher's deal. he was an A$$hole. but, i might've done the same thing. ignorance can be bliss
"mr reagan"? you knocking my memory?
i like CREATOR/IT much much MUCH better than GOD.
God invokes visuals of an old bearded dude, sitting somewhere in the sky, judging people and punishing people like me who think he's as real as the easter bunny
my conception of "reality" and the universe might have room for an "IT" if one defines "IT" in a certain way. however, i do not believe in any sort of "Thinking" entity. and i don't believe in any meaning or direction in life.
so, my "GOD" would be like the laws of physics or something.
but, i can't bend a spoon.
the whole believing in yourself IS quite interesting, though, from a psychiatric standpoint.
Neo, at the end, could change the Matrix, by will/mindpower.
and we can change the world we live in in certain ways b/c we interact with our environment.
now, depressed people tend to believe that they are HELPLESS and that the FUTURE is hopeless and SET. things will always suck.
non-depressed people tend to believe that they are in control of their lives and their world and that the future depends on what THEY do.
but, how does one find out who one really is?
i think we're always changing.
peteY out!
i changed my name
%- | ? Posted Jan 19, 2003
i thought that TNSIHE looked too much like "Tish"
and "The NEXT STEP IN HUMAN EVOLUTION" is a bit cumbersome. not too mention, rather narcissistic sounding, not reflecting my true humble nature
so, i'm going with "i THINK" for now. nice and simple. plus, decribes me pretty well.
and you can call me "iT" instead of "TNSIHE"
PeteY out!
hey, it changed my name in all the posts
%- | ? Posted Jan 19, 2003
now, hasselfree's TNSIHE posts won't make sense if anybody happens to read thru the conversations from the beginning
ok, i think i THINK is going home now
iT OUT!
Strange concepts.
hasselfree Posted Jan 19, 2003
"but, i can't bend a spoon.
there is no spoon !!!!
You believe in the solid mass of the spoon and believe it impossible to bend, therefor you have created the unbending spoon.
Try this for another take on God.
God is the sum total of all unconsciousness thought which is creative.
Think of the soul as unconscious thought, and that we are all the come from the same thing and return to the same thing, which is not physical
We are all one.
This sounds a bit odd and mad i suspect, but then take a look at quantum physics, and that sounds mad and illogical too.
Quantum physicists believe that the universe is made of something more like thought than matter !
I believe that an energy force, we call God, thought the universe into being, it then split into billions (big bang) and took on a physical shape . This was because in physical form we can experience things that ultimately teaches us who we really are, which is the thing we perceive of as God for want of a better name.
since we are all formed from that initial explosion we are in scientific fact all made of star dust
This is not a God with a long beard who sets out rules and regulations and then get's cross if we use the free will we have to be different, this is a God that is made of everyman's thoughts.
This perfection thing, you don't believe we are perfect and yet we are. your definition of perfection may be different to mine
you are living the perfect life (even if it doesn't feel that way) to acheive why you are here.
There is no biblical good and bad, only the experience.
Strange concepts.
Amanda Posted Jan 20, 2003
No worries. I forgive you, it's been a long day and I can't get my head round all this just yet.
Strange concepts.
%- | ? Posted Jan 20, 2003
can YOU bend spoons?
do you think that we [as subjective experiencers] influence the world around us? in quantum physics, observation changes the state of things. so, maybe, if a baby was raised not to believe in a physical world, then he would be able to bend spoons
"God is the sum total of all unconsciousness thought which is creative."
ALL AS IN ALL THE HUMANS THAT HAVE EVER LIVED?
"Think of the soul as unconscious thought, and that we are all the come from the same thing and return to the same thing, which is not physical
We are all one."
SO, DO WE GO THRU LIFE FOR KICKS? LIKE TO SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE AN INDIVIDUAL PHYSICAL BODY AND BE SEPARATED FROM THE COLLECTIVE?
"This sounds a bit odd and mad i suspect, but then take a look at quantum physics, and that sounds mad and illogical too."
RIGHT ON . QUANTUM PHYSICS GETS WEIRDER AND WEIRDER WITH EACH NEW THEORY. IN FACT, IF ITS NOT WEIRD ENOUGH NOWADAYS, NO ONE WILL TAKE IT SERIOUSLY
Quantum physicists believe that the universe is made of something more like thought than matter !
THEY DO???
"I believe that an energy force, we call God, thought the universe into being, it then split into billions (big bang) and took on a physical shape . This was because in physical form we can experience things that ultimately teaches us who we really are, which is the thing we perceive of as God for want of a better name.

WOW. YOU *ARE* ELOQUENT. I LIKE IT. I DON'T AGREE, BUT YOUR EXPLANATIONS CONVEY SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE, WHICH IS ADMIRABLE
"This perfection thing, you don't believe we are perfect and yet we are. your definition of perfection may be different to mine
you are living the perfect life (even if it doesn't feel that way) to acheive why you are here."
I'M LIVING THE PERFECT LIFE? I'M ON-CALL TONIGHT AND IT'S GONNA BE SUPER BUSY. NO SLEEP.
"There is no biblical good and bad, only the experience."
RIGHT ON
BTW, HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THEORETICAL PHYSICS?
I KNOW ALMOST NOTHING, BUT I WAS WONDERING ABOUT YOUR THOUGHT IDEA.
i THINK out
