i know it WON'T be.
%- | ? Posted Jan 18, 2003
of course, there's no way ANY movie could possibly be worth that amount of anticipation
hey, susY, my buddy over here, e-mailed me this quote. i love it
"The most ridiculous concept ever perpetrated by H. Sapiens is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of the Universes, wants the sacharrine adoration of his creations, that he can be persuaded by their prayers, and becomes petulant if he does not recieve this flattery. Yet this ridiculous notion, without one real shred of evidence to bolster it, has gone on to found one of the oldest, largest and least productive industries in history."
Robert Heinlein
what do you think?
petey out!
i know it WON'T be.
Amanda Posted Jan 18, 2003
I agree completely.
It's right.
Interesting.
Any ideas on what you might do if a comet was on the way?
Amanda
if a comet was on its way
%- | ? Posted Jan 18, 2003
as i've told you before, i would find out where exactly it would hit Earth and then take the next plane out to where ever that was so i could be hit on the head by it
oh no, wait... we already clarified that it'd be a waste to not even see the thing come down and hit earth. so, i'd find out where it was gonna hit and stand about, say, what do you think?, 100 meters away from the calculated impact site? that should give me a 50% chance of getting hit on the head anyways, you know if there was a slight breeze or something or if a butterfly fluttering about somewhere in southern california affected the trajectory of the comet [chaos theory]...
what would you do?
if a comet was on its way
Amanda Posted Jan 18, 2003
I apologise.
We have had this discussion b4.
I would watch.
Sorry.
I have slept since I made the entry about comets. I forget you see.

oh, i don't mind going over this doomsday thing again
so, your memories are erased every time you sleep
what would you do AFTER you saw it hit Earth?
oh yeah, you'd jump out of a plane with a parachute
and, then you'd go on a humongous eating binge, right ? and become huge and fat
can't i convince you that a 90-day crack cocaine, heroin, metamphetamine binge would be the best way to go?
that's what i'd do. seriously.

Amanda Posted Jan 18, 2003
I might consider the cocaine thing, if I was gonna die anyway.
No I do not lose my memory when I sleep, although it might be nice if we did. We would start everyday, fresh and optimistic, with no memory of anything crap.

i'm going pretty soon, too. i'm in my office cuz i don't have internet access at home and i can't hold off my hunger much longer
my theory about depression has to do with erikson's stages of life [and with evolutionary theory]. for people around your age, it's much easier to maintain a bright outlook if you have a sig O
it's hard-wired into us.
AGREED?

%- | ? Posted Jan 18, 2003
in a nutshell.
we all are biologically hard-wired to find a mate and have kiddies.
otherwise, evolution would have weeded us out.
doing this [mating, etc] leads to a more positive psychological state.
not doing this leads to a more negative state.
erikson's theory says the same thing except he calls the stage of young adulthood "intimacy vs isolation"...
so, i think a lot of young people who are single are lonely b/c they are not following their hard-wiring/lacking intimacy. and this makes them prone to becoming depressed.
AGREED?

Hasslefree indeed went to bed.
Sometimes things you don't see are right under your nose, and it can be really funny when you realise it

I'd watch the Matrix.
A fine film about the messiah story and the meaning of life.
Want to debate that?
