Yes!!! I got post number 15000! Unbelievable, I got it, I nabbed it, I cracked it, and all by (hopeful) accident. Good skills to me!

I love cities,I am relentlessly an urban woman, the ex-husband can keep the country town, IMHO! (But you make it sound lovely, Heathen.)

I was a bit ahead, I suppose, but very little came of it. Mum didn't feel comfortable with having me accelerated or placed in special classes. Not that I wouldn't prefer nice teachers to the horror of Ms McLean...

Do you know what happened to the girl who stole the special posting number from Jordan?

She... died, Della.

Yes, special classes for the gifted can be as stigmatising as those for those with intellectual handicaps. I remember teachers like Ms McLean - they are everywhere. May I never *be* one!
Humile apology
DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me! Posted Nov 29, 2003
Oh, Jordan, I didn't do it on purpose (though Jimmy just pointed out that I gloated on purpose. I'll let you have 16,000!
Humile apology
Jordan Posted Nov 29, 2003
OK... I think I can just accept it. But only just.
I suppose I can just bare sharing numerological glory with you.

morning everyone!

Well, since nobody else seems to be around today, let me suggest a time filler between debates about God (when *was* the last time anyone debated God on this thread anyhow?)
I suggest we start building a new h2g2 dictionary. I quite like 'humile'. And also the 'sprog' one you came up with, toxxin, though I can't remember exactly what it is now.
Or perhaps this should be a different thread altogether? Words you would like to exist? But I think it is more interesting to see new words pop up here from time to time. Ones that we can embrace as our very own.
What can I say? It's a quiet Saturday afternoon and I am stuck indoors waiting for a new tenant to show up. I suspect the rest of you are all off living your REAL lives and having way more fun than I am at the moment.
So, any more new words?

morning everyone!

Wow, nobody was here all day? Well, except you, Roadkill. I haven't read all of Meaning of Liff, just bits of it. But I guess you're right. It's been done before. Ho hum . . .

No reason to not continue where they left off.
I don't think they included a word for, the level of frustration reached when you've just done a massive update to a Guide Entry you've been working on, and it comes up with an XML error or something like that?
morning everyone!
azahar Posted Nov 30, 2003
Roadkill,
aha, but you can always just click on 'back' (does it say 'back' in English?) and get the page back again, can't you? That's what I do if that happens when I'm posting.
Alji,
Is he bigger than you?

Researcher 185550 Posted Nov 30, 2003
That works sometimes, but sometimes it clears it. Perhaps the sense of frustration when one has lost a posting?
I once decided that "ugly" was an insufficiently ugly word to be allowed to describe ugliness, and the alternative a friend and I came up with was "u-volg"

Road, copy your post before you click, especially if it's a long one.
