ah but to 'Loretta' (his new name) it wasn't a privilige. eyes of beholders, own truths, different perspectives and all that

Brian's got a point. And so do you, Moth. Exploitation is wrong. Ah, but that brings up all sorts of questions as to what the definition of exploitation is....
See? It's all semantics, in the end.

I'm still lauging at the bit about stoning the man for saying Jehovah = blasphemy. A guy is selling stones and Brians mum says that there are plenty of stones lying about
"Not like these hand crafted stones madam ", the seller say. "Look at the craftmanship."
"Alright" she says falling into the consumer trap. "I'll have two of those pointy ones, 3 flat ones and a bag of gravel"

"I've spoken to girls who are perfectly happy, if not proud, to have lost their virginity at the age of 12." (toxx)
Of course the other point is, how many 12 year old girls have you - or has anybody - ever spoken to that told you they were proud of losing their virginity? I've never had a 12 year old girl tell me about her sex life at all.

No I think exploitation is very clear
It takes advantage of those weaker , younger and less abled in all areas.
It's quite easy to spot when you've seen it in practice. I'm certain I've even done it myself in a snall way on some occassions .
Trying to think now about where and when................

I'm making an asumption that the 12 year old girl, proud of some long distant sexual act, when she was just out of primary school, is probably a sad 40 something now in the telling to toxx

Actually when you think about it proud is a funny word to use, because sex isn't a clever thing to do at any age. It doesn't take any skills at all. Practicaly anyone can do it if the equipment isn't past functioning. I'd be more impressed if they said they could ride a bike at 12!

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Nov 9, 2003
I'd be surprised if they can't ride a bike at 12....
Night!
Moth Posted Nov 9, 2003
I couldn't. I didn't have a bike!
If you don't got a bike, perfecting the riding can be problematic.
Although I became quite good at riding an imaginary bike. I never fell off it. which probably brings us back to underage sex. bother

az. Once again you respond to something I didn't say. The girls I spoke to weren't 12 when we had the conversation. I don't think it's uncommon to be pleased at losing ones virginity.

I believe that this differences in personal taste are a part a much larger field of emotive human responses to the human condition. If you trap a feeling/urge, (( like an animal) it will try to escape,) the way and direction it tries to escape is mostly dependant on its surrounding and of course any opportunity that might present it self.
If my girl was the focus of a person with this intent, Once past the first knee jerk response of "the g*t is in need of a frontal lobotomy". I probably recommend treatment for him/her, something along the lines of a frontal lobotomy. But then what did you expect.
As for the "life of brain" ( stones script ) The choices between organic stones or not is one of the best.

Do I believe in God or Evolution ?
Well I tend to look at it from this angle, say you were to take a block of wood and chuck it across the room, I admit that it would make a BANG probably a BIG BANG but it wouldn't make a table. There's got to be someone or something behind it to make a table, so yes I think I do believe in God. I think that it is healthy to have a faith everyone should have a faith although I do tend to look at some religions and see control, but its not a bad thing we all need some form of control. My sister had to have a sudden operation a while back and now is thinking of becoming a muslim (If anyone has recently converted I'd be very interested in hearing how they went about this) I'm unaware where this idea came from but she seems very set in her ways and is currently doing a lot of research into the whole religion which is proving to be very interesting, I myself wouldn't want to convert but I do find the religion very interesting and now have a greater understanding of it all, I admit disagreeing with some points but I think thats what makes it interesting. I've also been reading up on Buddhism which is also very interesting and very refreshing. Now I went to a catholic school and there I was introduced to the bible that to is an interesting book but there was always one issue what baffled me, maybe someone could help me out. After Cain killed his brother He was sent to Nod or somewhere and there he found a wife I always wondered where she came from ? But anyway back to my point I do believe there is a God and I like to believe we go to a better place, however I do understand that everyone has there own opinions (thats what makes the world so colourful)and my point is that before anyone can judge another persons religion or beliefs maybe they should look into that religion before hand like I have done if only to broaden ones mind.

"I think that it is healthy to have a faith everyone should have a faith"
I disagree. Faith is unhealthy--it leads to sloppy thinking if you believe things without evidence. You should try to minimize it as much as possible.

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Nov 9, 2003
Yeah, well, you're a robot...
Actually, I think perhaps faith isn't the issue, and God's existence isn't the issue. It's the layers of dogma, doctrine and organization that surrounds it.
Just a thought.

Hi, em's, and welcome.
I think you'll find that BIG BANG is a joke term that stuck.
The way scientists see it as that the universe started as a minute speck that expanded, and is still expanding today. As it expanded, it cooled, and it's initial orderliness began to break down giving rise to the complexities we find now.
No bang as such.
As to where the speck came from, that's a different matter. If God *is* to be found in the mere mechanics of the universe, that's where to look.

Demanded? Never. I asked. Politely. And I am not posting until it gets off the topic of paedophilia - and homosexuality, since someone brought that up. I have already seen all the conversations about both, and it just causes non-philosophical trouble, as it degenerates into personal attacks on people's personal opinions.
And I don't come here for that. I can get that sort of ranting elsewhere. I come here for informed debate and funny - clever funny - repostes. And to post breakfast goodies
