thair is danger everywhair
but esspecualy in todays society
i for one see no point to have a war in iraq
and the polititions are saying that thay have the full countures backing
i for one would like them to try and prove this
holkd an oppinion poll or something
but thay will not do that because then thay will not be able to go to war
thay say that iraq has wepons of mass destruction
thay do not see the irony hear so do we
and as far as i can see that makes us just as bad
and after iraq who next it will not stop
thair will be more and more pointless destruction
and for what
well thair are so meny arguments on that i am not even going to try
and say which one of them is correct.

yeah, that was a profound programme, channel 4 was too scared to show it, which is why it went to granada.
So, God realises he/she can't help us, his/her presence and guidelines don't stop all the wrong. So he/she realises its time to let us run our own lives, bet people still tried to make up new religions and stuff though. Wonder what it would be like to feel 'god' die? And would man do any better when they had the reponsibility?
You didn't offend me Anthea! each to their own!

The start of the Common Era is considered to be 1950, or am I getting mixed up? Yes, sorry, BP (Before Present used in archaeology, that's 1950.) I don't know what I am talking about...

What's it about? I've missed every episode so far and it looked really interesting!
Oh, and I like the exotic particle one, though I don't know why... [Trips over shoelaces.] Oh, that would be it.
(Funny incident: /immediately/ after assuring my flatmate that I would not fall down the stairs - i.e. half a second afterwards - I proceeded to skip three at once, falling down the stairs, and now I think I've broke my toe. )
(Well, he ed.)

Hi Della.
I'm fine, the sun shone briefly here yesterday and I heard a wood pigeon cooing, so the eternal hope of spring makes me feel like coming out of hibernation

There were only two episodes of Second Coming, but available on video from next monday (the marketing department said )
I think it was the BBC who rejected it (I read somewhere) and in fact in part one there is a pop at the BBC for turning off a live broadcast from the 'messiah'.

Anthea, I think we've been here before! How do you know that your conscience is right?

Antheas conscience or conscious is right for her. Built from day one from every experience she's ever had. As yours and mine are right for us.
What is 'right' is subjective to those experiences. Doubting one's own model of the world leads to people relying on religious books to tell them what to think and be.
Relying on books is a comforting thing which means 'I am not responsible' because I am only doing as I am told '
This ends up with people thinking and doing all sorts of peculiar and dissparate things - like going to war with a perceived enemy.
For example at this current moment I have no personal experience of Iraqis being my enemy - but I have been told it is so.
Do I believe the conscience of politicians or my own conscience gained from an experience.

Well since you have no experience of the Iraquis but you do have experience of politicians, I guess it has to be the politicians - by definition.

Now I'm getting confused, Hass. Are you saying that your conscience is decided on the basis of LACK or experience?

hasselfree Posted Feb 11, 2003
No Toxx I'm saying it's both!
Experience and LACK of experience.
I experience politicians lies, I LACK the experience of being attacked by Iraqis (both on a personal level) This is merely an example .
These things both form my conscience.

I'm still at a loss, Hass. How can the particular experiences and lack of them that you happen to have had, tell you what is right and what is wrong. If you had happened to have somewhat different experiences, would right and wrong be different for you? You've got me baffled!
