Who has time for either with homework, senior projects, college applications? Finally it's all over, so I should have time for it during the summer--no promises about when I'm in college, though.

Well, I didn't sleep much in high school this spring--about six hours a night. But I did need the sleep, I just didn't get it. So I kept being half-asleep a lot of the time--I nearly blacked out in physics class once or twice out of exhaustion from undersleep.

I like your views about the universe, kinda like mine in my journal.

Yes,there may be no GOD. But how do you explain all the good things that happen on earth? So many people who are born with extra abilities? So many disabilities yet they're soo happy? why are so many getting to eat roast chicken everyday? Why is there so much love? earth is not hell all the time. GOD existing doesn't mean there's nothing bad at all, it means that there's bad and then there's god too, isn't it?

If there's no God, there should be both bad and good--random events cannot produce only bad things very much of the time, if you think about it. But if there is a God, She's answerable for why __anything__ bad happens in the world--it oughten't if She is a good God. And if She isn't, why would She let __anything__ good happen?

It's great to hear from some new researchers on this thread. Gives me that "School's out" feeling.
But why do we call some things 'good' and others 'bad'? Is this just a reflection of what we happen to like?

In my case, that is the basic situation. Although technically I'm not a new researcher here, but I haven't been here for a while so I may be what you were refering to.
<>
I'd say yes, probably--I wouldn't say "good" and "bad" are exactly objective.

The current name isn't really all that memorable!
So something you like is 'good' and something you dislike 'bad'. And if I think the opposite, I'm right too? This seems a little confusing!

Sorry. I changed it again--is this one more clear?

Maybe the words mean nothing.

"Lemon tree very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet ..." If I recall the lyrics correctly.
Well, I only mentioned them because everyone was using them in the messages before I butted in! I remain confused, of course. Are there only certain words that mean nothing - and how can we spot them?

I just discovered that I know Lemon in real life (see the ...pee standing up?) thread on my subscription list. And I have a feeling that she'll didn't have that song in mind when she came up with the user name.

Good grief! You haven't seen her doing it, have you?
No, that would be why she's 'blossom' and not 'flower'.
"... but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat!"
Hey, its only a song.

No--if you actually go and read the thread it'll be more clear.

RDO is right. I certainly didn't know about that song and wasn't thinking about it when I picked this name.

I meant that I didn't think the concepts of "good" and "evil" necesarrily meant anything.

No. If you'd read the thread, you'd understand. I haven't actually had a chance to try it--I only found the technique yesterday and I figure I should try it in the shower first so I don't make a mess of the bathroom before I figure out how to do it right. I'll test it out tonight, I suppose. I do want to see if it works.
Although I don't see what's so disgusting about it really--I mean, you guys have a tendancy to pee against trees if there's no bathroom outside without worrying much if anyone can see you doing it.

I once saw someone with their car pulled over to the side of the road, with the door open and standing between the door and the car. From the sound, it was pretty obvious what they were doing.
