Chrisiane, as I mentioned on the previous Kew event, there are free electric scooters available. I just need to know in advance, so I can book one.

Here is an update on planned engineering works on London Underground on the Meet weekend.

Please check your route with the details below:

Circle Line (Yellow one) -
No service Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th May.

District Line (Light Green one) -
No service in either direction between Embankment and Whitechapel on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May.
There may also be no service between Earl's Court and Embankment, but I am awaiting conformation!

A replacement smiley - bus service operates for part of this route.

Further updates if I receive any.

smiley - headhurts I have no idea how you people can live with so complex public transportation. It confusing even if it works okay (does that ever actually happen?) but all those changes...

smiley - biggrin It really is supprising just how often the transport system actually works and gets you to the right destiantion at the right time smiley - wowsmiley - biggrin Err.... I don't know if the London Underground has ever actually been up and running with each and every line working all at the same time ;- It'd be a national day of celibration were it to do so probably smiley - snork

>> I have no idea how you people can live with so complex public transportation. <<

Well, it does service a city of 7.5 million people, so it's very large. It *does* work without closure during the working week* but at weekends TFL take the opportunity to do engineering work during the relatively less busy period. As it is the world's oldest underground railway system, it does need a lot of maintenance.

I know we like to complain about it but the fact remains that for the vast majority of the time it does work.

RFsmiley - evilgrin

* Except for major engineering, when stations or sections of line can be closed for months at a time.

Dear MMF

Thank you for that information. However, as I only found out today when a lot wad of about 160 postings suddenly landed on my thread, what was actually happening - I thought eventually that it was a walk through London and past St. Pauls/ Now you are going to Kew which is wonderful.

However, quite honestly, I really cannot manage anything. I feel a dreadful drop out, but I really can only just manage being wheeled around in this lovely seaside town and then falling into bed as soon as I reach home.

so have a lovely day a Kew. I shall be thinking of you.

With all good wishes for a wonderful sunny day and a wonderful time.

Christiane
