Lady K - when I lived in two places for some years I had some friends who watered my plants while I was in the other place. It seemed to me that cacti even enjoyed it (they were in the place I stayed in summer and sometimes on weekends) as they flowered every year. I just couldn't give my flowers away but I chose the ones who needed less water. smiley - winkeye

As about virtual cacti, I'm terribly stupid in computing and I have no idea how to create a virtual cactus. Before the Rupert I had a nice Cactus Garden with photos. Any ideas about virtual cacti smiley - grovel?

Well Hati, if you had any invisible virtual cacti, that might work. My friends and I can use our imaginations!

What is it you like about Crock Hunter, D? Personally, if we're talking brawny Aussie men, I like Mel Gibson myself. Crocodile Dundee's a pretty awesome guy, but he's much too old for me! smiley - smiley

smiley - silly

I think I like the Croc Hunter because he's so stupidly brave... and he thinks crocs are beautiful and yeah, the accent. He cracks me up... smiley - laugh

E, you are beginning to remind me of Pandora. Are you feeling better? Sorry about your bad day at work. smiley - sigh Here, have another smiley - coffee.

Kasia, hope you are feeling better. Sultandude too. Have a glass of smiley - oj,

I like gardening more than houseplants, but I like houseplants too. *Gives Lady K, Gwennie, and Hati each a smiley - rose from her garden.*

What little beauties do you have in flower at the moment, Mari ?

For me it's the Astilbes. Their absolutely gorgeous just now - like a cloud of pink candyfloss. smiley - smiley

Aww, thanks mari-rae!

*puts the smiley - rose in a slim vase with some water to show it off*

I don't like gardening so much, partly for the same reason I DO like houseplants -- gardening is a lot of specific sort of work, and I'm not very good at keeping up my end of the bargain when it comes to caring for other life forms. (the other reason is i'm very much an indoors person) I need something simple and relatively undemanding... troubling thing is, i'm quite certain I want to have children some day! Perhaps if I start with the houseplants and work my way up to a goldfish... ?

And Mel Gibson is NOT yucky! Heresy! He's one of my favourite actors, really -- he's no Antonio Banderas, but I just love his films! The Patriot, Maverick... mmmmm. Something about his style!

What a beautiful flower, Lady K. ...Kasia - sorry you had a bad week. Hope they find out what's wrong with your Mum. ....and about the croc meat ... freshwater croc is alright, but saltwater croc has the taste & texture of a, ancient chicken that's swum the Atlantic a couple of times .... I'll stick with the oysters ...

I have to admit that I feel about gardening and other life forms just like Lady K, the only difference here is that I have two kids already. I guess I got them before I was sure how I feel. Lucky me! Planning would have made it worse to me smiley - winkeye.
Actually I have a garden too, but it's quite neglected. The only flowers there atm are tiger-lilys. Two weeks ago it was full of peony. Pink peony and red peony.

Aaaa.. peony! I love them - there are gorgeous and the smell... My mom has many of them in her garden, so in June - they are here earlier blushing, then at your place, Hatifnat smiley - smiley - I'm dizzy with this smell!

This year peony were late here, because of the cold spring and the earlier ones - red - flowered very long time, my favourites - pink - are later but now they are all gone too. I'm trying to find some white peony, too. Peonys are easy to take care of, that's why I like them. Now the currants are getting red and this is almost as beautiful as flowers.

atm in my garden I have only a few of the perennials in bloom, bellflowers and allium. Oh! and my hens and chicks plant put up a flower! The speedwell and veronica are just ending... The delphinium, peonies, bleeding heart, flax, iris, etc. are all finished. I do have lots of annuals blooming away, though.... loebelia, geranium, begonia, new guinea impatiens, and pansys. smiley - rosesmiley - bluebutterfly

smiley - biggrin

What's wrong, E? Here, you may have an smiley - oj too if you need one. (Lately, I seem to be thinking that oj is a cure all for everything!)
