What a great place!!!!! Here you can study among beautiful (mostly harmless) cactus and other friendly houseplants!!!

Kes Posted Nov 6, 2000
*The place is indeed warm .. to suit the flora. Kes is thankful that the plants are well spaced, so he can walk between them without getting prickles in his wings. He notices a comfortable chaise longue surrounded by ferns*
Shall we sit? Do tell me which are your favourite books ... though all books are favoured ....
*He approves of the large number of poetry books on the stacks ...*

*Kes nods in approval, though he's not familiar with the second title ....*
*The air is heavy with the scent from a rare cactus flower; both K &D find their eyelids are drooping.*
... and all those sonnets ... does a poet's eye good to see them ...

Maybe I picked too warm and cozy of a place...
::tries to lay down, cautious of the cactus::
::yawns::
Now, who are your favorite authors, and your favorite books, Mr. Rescuer of Poetries Lost!??

Hati Posted Nov 6, 2000
*walks around for a while, finds a nice corner at the peyote and opens the book - Illusions, by Richard Bach*
Warm and cosy. I'll stay here until rain is over. Wake me up in 10 hours or so...

I try to love all poetry equally, so that the poems I keep don't become jealous. It's hard - I do have preferences, but I read them quietly ... I'll show you some of them later.
Other books and authors? Well, everything by DNA, of course ..... The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran ..... Ullyses by James Joyce (hard work, though) ... and all the short stories by Borges .. considering the building we're in now, you could try his book "The Library of Babel".
There is one other book that I treasure, though not for reading .... The Book of Changes - the I Ching.
*As the vanilla odour of the cactus flowers wafts by, Kes absent-mindedly strokes Dragonfly's hair, forgetting for a moment that this incarnation is not the cat.*

MMMMmm... vanilla...
::thinks about Kes's book selections::
I'm the same way about BEATLES songs... I try my darnedest not to seem biased...
::sigh::
::hesitates to say anything:: What, now, are you doing, playing with my hair!??

*Pauses in mid "stroke" and looks into Dragonfly's eyes (soon realising they are not cat's eyes!)*
Ah! Oh! Excuse me ... er ... I didn't mean to .. er ... that is, .. I thought you were .. no, I didn't, ... I mean I forgot, and ... well, I don't want to .. er, actually, I do, but I shouldn't, er ..
*Realises he is making little sense, pauses, looks again, tries again ...*
(Thinks: What gorgeous big eyes you have ... Oh come on, get a grip, man!)
Right! What I mean to say is ... What gorgeous ... no .. I mean, yes, you have, but I didn't intent to say it, what I was going to say was ... was ... quite different ..er..not that they're not, I mean they are .. er ..are what I didn't say ..er, and
*Third time lucky?*
I.m sorry. It must have been the scent from the cactus flowers. I was thinking back to the party for some reason. I do apologise if I ...er, so would you prefer me to Let it Be? .. and yes, your analogy about the Beatles' songs is most appropriate. They are all so good.

::laughs:: You're such a card...
It's time to wake up Hatifnat...
::Runs over to Hatty, hoping Kes didn't catch her blushing::
Up up up!!!

*Sighs with relief that D was not angry with him. Watches her run over to Haf; wonders if he detected her hesitate before leaping away ...*
Is he awake now, D?

::hiding her face behind a friendly houseplant, as she is still red:: Aye, there he is!!! Awake, and as fresh as an apple... complete with dew even...
And... speaking of dew, I need a drink of water... I'll be right back...
::thinking:: OH please.... don't you move a muscle!!!
Hatifnat's Cactus Study Garden
Kes Posted Nov 8, 2000
Yes, of course - do go and get a drink .. er, .. I'll just wait here 'til you get back.
*He peers through the plants, trying to read some of the titles on the bookshelves, and trying to recover his composure.*

::hands one to Hatty::
::Puts the other on the sofa beside Kes, brushing his hand::
::sits down::

Thank you.
*takes the punch*
I guess I'll take a walk until you two stop blushing.

*Marvellous excuse - holds his hand to her forehead*
Are you too warm?
