no, while still at school, I fell into good company with a set of philosophical engineers (strange term, but I can't describe it better).
These people actually encourage people to think, and to think better.
one of the aspects of this group is that it encourages individuality, and prediction. Of course being people who think we spotted a lot of strange things, some of which are only now starting to happen.
for example we were using wearable computers in the days of the sinclair zx81 (198?), doing digital photograph in 1987, and actively promoting a lot of alternative technology and space technology.
Pescu is a small (dis)organisation with a number of thinkers associated with it. these include myself, zyra (see http://www.zyra.org.uk/ ), a robotics researcher, an engine analysis engineer, and a number of others.
One of the things we came up with is the idea that the then current methodology of space technology would not be able to scale up.
we have a nack for being able to talk to unreachable people, for example the designer of the hotol space plane and the designer of the amd computer processor.
pescu's website came about because I happened to be at the right place when the domains became free, and happened to have some spare webspace.
as for being paid, you could say that that is indirect. contributers get added to a list, and if we need to link to something that hasn't currently got a page at pescu, we will happily link to the page on a contributers website. If this page happens to have affiliate links on it, so that the contributer gets commission, then that is fine.
An example of this approach is the mars direct feature, at http://www.pescu.net/marsdir.htm which I wrote. It needed a link to the book "the case for mars" by robert zubrin, and I happened to have already given it a write-up on my site. this review happens to have amazon (uk and usa) affiliate links from it, so if someone likes mars direct feature and wants to find out more, they can link to the review, and if they like that and buy the book, I get commission.
we will take articles from anyone if the subject is right (by agreement), but we don't pay for them. one of the aims is to do to space technology what the free software foundation have done for software, and find relatively cheap ways into space which are then cheaply available and well publicised.

well, as I am the person responsible for integrating articles into the site, let me know if you think of anything you would like to write an article about.
articles are submited to me as .txt or simple html code (p and href's) which then get inserted into a template page, and published.

I know as a muse this is herasy, but I can't stand the stuff (or chocolate milk). this is no reflection on the stuff, I am just very sensitive to a lot of stuff in food, and thus can't eat it.
ps please don't broadcast this to the other muses, it might ruin my image. please have some yourself though.

well dragonfly, issue 33 of my website http://www.xyroth-enterprises.co.uk/ is now out. I popped you on the circular list, as I seem to end up telling you half it's content anyway.
if you want to be removed from the list, then let me know. if anyone wants to be added then pop along to the form filling page and sign up to be notified. it's at http://www.xyroth-enterprises.co.uk/form.htm
I wonder if the link will get through this time. it has been ok elsewhere on this site, but they didn't like it last time.
strange.

oops, I failed to mention that issue 3 of http://www.pescu.net/ has now been published at 2003/01/15 21:50.
work on issue 34 of xyroth enterprises continues, and soon work will be happening on pescu.com as well.
how about that for muse achievements?

well, issue 34 of http://www.xyroth-enterprises.co.uk/ is now online, and the circular should be sent out in the next day or two.
then it's on to the http://www.pescu.com/ website, and see if I can get any income in for them, so they can renew their domain names when they come due.

well, issue 35 of xyroth enterprises is now online, and the newsletter was only a couple of weeks late.
in the meantime, there is a lot of work going into affiliate programs for issue 36, there is a new website at http://www.real-linux.co.uk/ and more work needs to be done on both http://www.pescu.net/ and http://www.pescu.com/ and we are now starting to get suggestions for stuff to go on pescu.org when we get it to the point of being publishable.
aren't I being a busy , especially as I seem to be helping a little with http://www.zyra.org.uk/ as well. (mainly programming of tools for use with all the domains mentioned, plus some others)
any feedback or constructive suggestions greatly appreciated.

WOW.
Will this project ever be complete!??
Research at xyroth enterprises
xyroth Posted Jul 3, 2003
why would it get complete?
that is like asking "when will the internet get full".
so, apart from "WOW", any other comments or suggestions for or about any of the sites mentioned in this thread?
