Potential activities for the meetup!

Bluebottle

I've no idea about anything that goes on at all... I just live here.

One question that arises is the question of possible accomodation...?

Some people (I *THINK* I should be fine this time) will probably be visiting from quite a way away - up North for example - and they may, like me, be poor students who cannot afford a hotel or B&B to stay in. And, as trains don't normally run late at night, it would be helpful if anyone who can offer people a place to stay in the London area says they can.
We'd first need to know who needs accomadation, though.

I'll probably need accomodation, but I may have to leave quite early on the Sunday morning to get back to Manchester at a reasonable time.

You see, with all the messing about RailTrack are doing with the line repairs, I'll probably be going there and back by National Express coach.

How easy is it to walk from Victoria Coach Station to the Towers or will there be some other rendezvous?

Hopefully Roasted Amoeba will be able to offer floor space, I'll ask him next time I speak to him.

If the quiz is on h2g2 life, then I'm going on Bluebottle's team smiley - bigeyes

Hmm... if the trains aren't running right I can't come. I really, really can't go on a coach. I'll be vomiting all the way there and back again.

Can you not get to sleep on journeys then...? One bloke I knew was always violently sea sick, so he always fell asleep the second he got on a boat. smiley - smiley

I'm sure I could find out where Mathew Pincent lives, and kidnap him... he was in Henley yesterday... He may even live in Sonning... that's where UriGellar (sp.) lives. However I DO know where Lenny Henry lives... he has a red front door and some horses... smiley - winkeye

He'll do. Is he still with Dawn French or did they split?
If they're still together, bring her as well.

I'm not sure, I think he is.... haven't heard anything recently so I guess so...

I would go and stake out his place, but it's tipping it down outside... and I'm too lazy to be bothered...

To get him there would either involve a "VERY" large kidnapping plan... or me actually asking him.... which I doubt would work... smiley - sadface

Oh well, back to the plan smiley - winkeye

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

It might work... he might already be an h2g2 researcher for all we know. smiley - smiley

We could kidnap DNA instead.

I'm not really here

I think I'd have no idea about a quiz like that. I don't remember stuff that I read for long.

I can't offer anyone else a place to stay, I've already got two researchers staying with me, and I've only got a cupboard sized house.
Sorry.

Wow! A cupboard! That'll do smiley - winkeye

*thinks kidnapping DNA is a great idea...*

Why don't we invite him?

He's probably too busy drinking champagne on the beach in Miami and laughing at all the suckers who bought Mostly Harmless to finance him.

Niz (soon to be gone)

The only problem with iceskating is that last time I was on ice I was chased by Alaskan hunters with clubs after my skin. It has left me rather cautious when on ice.

Same with swimming, Greenpeace sent me out to sea last time!!

The trains had better get themselves sorted out... no services at all at Nottingham today as far as I know.

* gets distraught at the thought of not being able to come *

Post 79

Peregrin

Hmm... they've got nearly a month to sort themselves out, so hopefully they will. If not then you probably could get a coach from Nottingham to London, but book early 'cos that's what everyone will be doing.

*Reminds Peregrin that MaW get's violently coach sick....*

Aparently the trains should be back to some sort of service by then... but Railtrack aren't going to be done until next year!

You should be able to get a train service, just allow extra time for it smiley - winkeye
