We welcome researchers friends. But a word of warning - as most of the conversation revolves around the site they can sometimes feel a little left out.

I brought one of my friends along last time, and she had a great time, so give it a go. It might be worth at least showing them the site beforehand if you can, so at least they understand the gist of the thing. But they'd be most welcome.... smiley - smiley

When we held the dutch meet in september we enlisted several researchers at the last minute. It worked because Fraggel is now coming with us to the english meet. So why not enlist them ? That is, if they have internet-access ?

Why not come on your own!? Don't be shy, I'm sure we'll all be as unsure and as nervous as eachother, I doubt many will actually know eachother (although I confess I will know one of the other researchers but I'm sure he'll be too busy chatting and making friends so I'll be on my own.... hey I could bore you to death with tales of my pregnancy!!)

The only researchers who know each other really are those that have met at previous meet ups. They are great fun and it really is great to meet people that you've sort of chatted to in forums but don't really know very well.

When the first meet up was held, way back now, h2g2 had only been running a couple of months, and nobody knew each other, except for Ginger and Doug.

But it was great fun. Meeting people usually is, especially if you share a common interest.

*worried that his phone bill might stop him being able to come*

I am gonna try to get a guy I like to come along. Difficulty is that he doesn't know I like him, at least not quite smiley - smiley

I have a strong feeling he likes me but isn't ready to face everyone... so no comments *narrows eyes at Abi* smiley - winkeye

And with that reply you were 'hmm right'ing others?smiley - winkeye

It's a shame you can't make it along though, but we do all lead lives outside of a computer. I, for instance will have been up since 3am that day, working since 4am, so I'll probably turn up and fall asleep. Just like I was doing last yearsmiley - smiley But it's nice to be able to combine the escapisim offered by places such as h2g2 with our real livessmiley - smiley
