lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!

>> I love Scunny Bunny (and indeed, drink in the same pub as the man inside)...<<
For this Canadian, the lack of any prior context makes that sentence one of the most amibiguously hilarious things I've seen all day. But hey, there's a war on and I'm desparate for laffs...

*rushes over to post it on the non-sequiturs thread*
I'm no further on I'm afraid. Boston's no help since they're first alphabetically, so they dont fit into any "dog, dog" sequence.
So I'm just gonna wait for another clue

Mu Beta Posted Apr 8, 2003
OK...so if I tell you that the first in the list is 'dinosaur', will you be able to work out the last two?
B

Beatrice Posted Apr 8, 2003
possibly...dinosaur is Gunnersaurus (Arsenal)..and I have the list of the Premier team in the office...but where do Boston fit in? Is it more than just one division?
Confused?
You will be!
lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!
Mu Beta Posted Apr 9, 2003
Try _all_ the divisions...
*might as well have answered this myself*

Mu Beta Posted Apr 10, 2003
Erm, not the answers I've got, but I'm tempted just to give you this question just to get it over and done with.

I had Bradford and Brentford next on my alphabetical list...depends on which divisions you included!
What were your answers, before I post my fiendish question
lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!
Mu Beta Posted Apr 10, 2003
Well, Bradford is a bantam, so I was after 'Chicken and Bee', but never mind.
For anyone who doesn't have the foggiest what we're on about, take a look at http://www.btinternet.com/~barry.kerr/ (it's worth the long download)

Gor blimey I've been to that site more times than enough this past week.....and I still can't find anything on it!
If you look under www.themascotgrandnational.co.uk you will see that "The City Gent" represented Bradford at the last race

Mu Beta Posted Apr 10, 2003
Now, I'm surprised, because I thought that the posh city gent would naturally enough be Peterbrough's mascot.

Beatrice Posted Apr 10, 2003
I think it's a "Bradford and Bingly" buidling society reference...but then I know f-all cubed about football
Is it time for my question then?
lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!
Mu Beta Posted Apr 10, 2003
Yes, indeed. Is anyone actually subscribed to this thread apart from me and thee, though?

We'll soon see, won't we!
Apparently 345 51135 some kind of 511345 (hopefully with no 5133 in 'em!)
Now it wasn't 537 with the 3704 in 514 3045......who was it?
Don't expect instant responses from me - I'm off to Fr*nch class shortly
My turn!

'Apparently she sells some kind of shells (hopefully with no eels in 'em!)
Now it wasn't Les with the hose in his shoe......who was it?'
Why would anyone have a hose in their shoe?
My turn!
Smiffy the Lab Assistant (1+9)*5-(5+4)+1=42 Posted Apr 10, 2003
3704 is hole not hose though....

Dr J! An unexpected mis-calculation? You got the whole, enciphered 7718 otherwise. With things taken care of here, why not take a chance and see if you can't figure out my undecipherable clue on another quiz? F51431?thread=247151&skip=420&show=20
0009 807 Luckystar! You took a big risk here, I had to change my name after my attempt at this.
My turn!
Beatrice Posted Apr 13, 2003
Not sure if I'm being insulted or not!
No-one's given me one of the (at least) 2 acceptable answers to the question yet!
My turn!
Cupid Stunt Posted Apr 14, 2003
It wasn't anything to do with Dear Lizas freind Henry with a hole is his bucket instead of his shoe was it?
