We all agree that (broadly) there are people and people. There are also people and people.
My theory is that the people are also people
and the people are also people.
Anyone who posts to contradict this theory must surely just be the exception to prove the rule

Can I be the exception that proves the rule? and everytime.
Although, that said, I USED to be a coffee person and I think the reason for the link might be this: Cats are luxurious, sophisticated and a little bit evil, coffee is the same. Tea is unadventurous, comforting and (with milk) tastes like wet dog. Dogs are the same (except without the 'with milk' bit.) The same goes for unconditional affection; good coffee is wonderful, but difficult to find - cats offer everyone their condescention (rubbish coffee) but are mainly elitist so you have to fight for real love. Good tea is harder to find than good coffee, but reasonable tea is easily accessible. Dogs will give love to EVERYONE it's just much harder to find a genuine dog.
So, I overdid it on caffine one day and if I drink too much I get sick, so I had to switch to tea to get my fix, and now I love it, but to prove that I'm a person, I drink it black because wet dog smells THAT bad.

I am a and and and person. But I would always associate coffee with dogs and tea with cats, the latter being more sophisticated. Coffee is just more hyper and slightly obnoxious, and so are dogs. That's why I have four cats and just one dog, and I drink tea four times as frequently as coffee.

I like both cats and dogs, but if I had either as a pet it would be a cat. I drink tea more often than I drink coffee, but I'm not sure which I prefer. I love good coffee, but it's hard to get unless I make it myself.
