*over music* How about Your Song segued into Piano Man?

Ah, yes.. a great piano pounding number!

Adds some Joel-style riffs and chords alternating with Elton John octave work.

*catches up with ox and goes into 'Your Song'*

*pads and fills RB's tonal textures with strings and horns in background...as lovely song lulls ox starts pounding a heavy boogie woogie bass line...

Aw, heck...rock it Redbeard!

Love it!

*plays a counter-point to the bass line with his left hand while doing boogie-woogie scat improvisation with his right.*

Wow, guys! Cooool!!! Yeah, keep going!!!

*Lil comes to the entrance, smiling to hear the improvisations from such a talented crowd, then looks regretful as she crosses the room, the faint aroma of aquaria trailing behind her*

*going over to redbeard, she whispers in his ear*

*keeps up pace by jumping into "Great Balls of Fire" and "Jumping Jack Flash" *

In fact it's a gas!

*is momentarily distracted with a bemused look on his face, then returns to the playing...

*Switches to a jazzy piano bass pattern with chords*

Take a solo, ox!

*while watching Lil and RB and wondering what's afoot, ox flips into 5/4 and solos Brubeck's "Take Five"...*

*plays the 5/4 rhythm piano under ox's solo

*True beat self revealed for brief moment*

*waits for ox to start the trilling opening clarinet solo*
