The Carnival season is at the peak. Floats are being readied for the parade. It's time to start this year's parade.

Hi, Warrior Ranger.
You're the first one here. I was kind of afraid it would be a real short parade. Would you like a costume? There all sorts of masks and head dresses as well as ball gowns and capes etc.

Hmm, gowns aren't my style, but I could do with a mask and cape...

*chooses a long black cape, lined in purple; a black mask, and a black cap sporting a vivid purple feather*

Stunning outfit! Now, would you like to design a float or other vehicle?

I'll have to get back to you on that one... it's late, and I've never designed anything like that, so I'll have to give it some thought.

I may ask my if they'd like to participate, too!

Hi Candi, and Gw7en. Welcome to the parade! Very nice outfits! Candi, there are some bright pink opera gloves if you'd like...

There is a joke something like: You must be from Louisiana if you really think purple, green and gold not only look good together, but you are also willing to eat things dyed those colors.

We need a few more floats and some music. Other than that, I think we'll be okay. There are plenty of beads and trinkets in the crates over here, help yourself. I'm also expecting some King Cakes to arrive later as well as other refreshments.

If anything, Mardi Gras is colorful. It's also loud, gaudy, and a whole lot of fun (did I mention loud?).

Well, I've put the finishing touches on my float. Traditionally the parade makes a lap of the Campsite late Sunday throuh Tuesday. Then the after-party just sort of goes until....

Until everyone sobers up enough to wander home?
